Suggestion:New Mass Effect
Hey everyone, fellow Mass Effect fans! I've had an idea floating around in my head for a while now and I'd love to hear what you all think about it. It's about connecting the Mass Effect 3 endings with the new game and the potential return of Shepard. My thought is that BioWare could allow us to import our saves from ME3 with any ending, but the dialogue options related to romantic relationships and full Shepard continuity would only unlock if you chose the "Destroy" ending where Shepard survives. This could be explained by the nanotechnology from the Lazarus Project. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it would help BioWare elegantly bridge the story and also respect player choices? Controller Not Working - Mass Effect Legendary Edition Steam
System: PC Windows 10 Purchased on Steam Latest EA App Version 13.482.0.5995 I recently reinstalled Legendary Edition to replay the trilogy and no matter what I try I cannot get my controller to connect (I have PS5 and a generic xbox controller). I remember playing with controller just fine back in 2021 and the best I can find online is that this seems to be an ongoing issue with the EA App itself. I bought the game on steam, I have adjusted every possible controller setting on there. I have tried adding EADesktop as a non-steam game, and that does show the controller in the Legendary menu, but once I boot up ME1 it no longer shows any controller options. If anyone has any other work arounds to try that would be great!
[PC] Possible workarounds for Mass Effect Legendary Edition launch problems.
If the game does not start for you, there are several possible workarounds: Notice: Mass Effect Legendary Edition will not run on Windows 7. LE1 & LE2 will not run on CPUs with only 2 physical or logical cores. (You need 4 logical cores.) If you changed the global settings inside the "Manage 3D Settings" panel of the NVIDIA control panel anytime in the past, look at this post. Disable "Controlled folder Access" of the Windows defender. Disabling OneDrive PC folder backup. Corruptions in the "License" folder might also keep the games from starting. Make sure Origin and Steam are closed. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time Copy and paste C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services into the new window > hit ENTER. Move the "License" folder to your Desktop > Test. A overprotective Virus scanner or other security software could also block the access to game files. (If you use "Sophos Home Premium" or other Sophos products look at this post and this post .) Disabling Bluetooth on some motherboards fixed the issues for some players as well. The Nahimic audio service, which is installed with the Realtek audio drivers from some motherboard manufacturers like MSI or Asus, causes many problems, and here it does too, it seems. (The Realtek stand alone audio drivers normally don't have the Nahimic software installed.) ROG's Sonic Radar 3 is one of the apps that uses it. If you use a VPN, look at this post. Check if the regional settings of your EA account (not EA app) is set right . If you have the game on Steam and it will only launch EA app but not the game, a possible cause is in this thread. (Warning! This requires some deeper computer knowledge.) Fixed: If you have a Windows user name with special characters in it: Either: create an new Windows user account with only ASCII characters in it. > Reboot > Log on to the new account > Test. Or: Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. Type or copy and paste "control" into the new window. (Without the quotes) > Hit ENTER. Choose "Region" > Administrative Tools > Change Locale > Check "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" > klick "OK" Reboot > Test. This issue was fixed with Patch 1.03 It looks like the game requires a CPU with AVX instruction set It turned out that only the Launcher needs the AVX instruction set. Almost all CPUs built for end consumer use in the last 10 years have this instruction set. However, if you are not sure, you can check the technical specifications of your CPU on the manufacturer's website. If you have this problem, in this post by is a workaround for the problem. (As always, use third party tools at your own risk.) This issue was fixed with Patch 1.03

When downloading Mass Effect 3 or Mass Effect Andromeda, players may run into one of the following errors: Mass Effect 3 - "An online pass is required to access the online features of the game." Mass Effect Andromeda - "Missing Online Access" Changes to the EA account cause these specific errors. These can include but are not limited to the following: EA Play subscription expired Account Mergers A separate account downloaded the DLC If you encounter this error when launching the game, first try the following steps to see if this resolves the error(s). Delete EA License Files: Make sure the EA app is closed. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. Type or copy and paste "ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER Delete all files within this folder. Clear Windows temp files: Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER" Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it. (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)
