UFC 5/6 Road to PC [or maybe new fightgame sensation] (Important)
Dear ElectronicArts : Hey EA Sports UFC team and fellow fighters, I'm a huge UFC fan and longtime player of the series (loved UFC 3 and 4 on older gens), but like so many others, I've fully committed to PC gaming. There's a ton of demand for UFC on PC – just check the threads here on the forums, Reddit, and social media where thousands are begging for it. With UFC 5 killing it on consoles but still no native PC release (cloud streaming doesn't count for everyone), and rumors swirling about UFC 6 possibly coming to PC, now's the perfect time to make it official! Why PC now? Console gaming is fading into history: PC gaming is exploding – the market hit $76B+ in 2024 and is projected to keep surging through 2030, outpacing consoles in raw power, modding potential, and price-to-performance. High-end PCs crush next-gen consoles in graphics, frame rates, and longevity without needing pricey upgrades every few years. Most players (including me) already own controllers like Xbox or DualSense – no need to reinvent the wheel with keyboard/mouse optimization. Just map the familiar button layouts from past UFC games, and it's plug-and-play. Super easy port! It would be a huge missed opportunity for EA to skip PC. You're leaving millions of potential players, streamers, and esports fans on the table – think bigger tournaments, more visibility, and way higher revenue. Combat games like Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 sell millions on Steam alone. UFC deserves that too! Bonus idea to revolutionize the genre: While porting UFC 5/6, why not develop a spiritual successor or spin-off? A hyper-realistic MMA fighter with street fight or bare-knuckle rules – grounded mechanics, no fantasy stuff, just brutal, authentic brawls. It could breathe new life into fighting games and skyrocket popularity among PC crowds craving something fresh yet true to UFC's roots. Please, EA – make UFC 6 (or backport 5) PC-native! When loading into my game from my last save from last night (January 12), all my photos across the save are there. Now when I try to save today after the update, upon logging back into the game all the photos have turned black! I had to load back to the previous save from last night to get my photos back. But now I can no longer play/ save the game!! The photo system is completely broken. I don't know what code they put into this new update, but I cannot play anymore without the pictures turning black after saving. Please help fix it, I don't know what else to do other than ask for help. I tried making a new save, but photos still turn black. I've no mods/cc installed. The update today mentioned "fixes" with photo system items like graduation photos, celebrity photos, memorial photos, but I have a feeling somewhere within that coding something has gone wrong for existing photos. EDIT: Paintings are affected too. They turn white. Since black photos are a symptom of a bug and not a bug itself, the issue can have many causes and each needs to be fixed separately. The only safe thing you can do is keep backups of your save game and/or upload rooms with your photos to your library or gallery. This is true for the upcoming patch when they fix another instance. Do not throw your backups away. Keep them safe. Now that the newest wave of bot farming has subsided, isn't it nice to be able to join and host Portal servers again!? It's a sad state of affairs when what we once enjoyed and miss in the old, old Battlefield games feels so gone and so hard to feel again. Portal really feels like the only option we have to experience our Battlefield nostalgia. Portal has persistent servers, searchable, a player count, a ping, and keeps players together round after round. It has everything most of us want, except for stability and full control. It's the closest thing we have. Let's celebrate and share what we have. I'll start. Don't just stop at the first one. Descriptions and experience codes are below. Here is a Golf Course map I made. I call it King of the Hill, but it isn't everyone's version of King of the Hill. It is a literal hill -- the one with Club House at the top -- and two teams of 20 spawn on either side of the map and try to capture the Club House. There is a Hardcore version and a Standard core version. It has bot fill with AI that has a purpose. Custom Layout and Spawn Protection I have added a crumbling highway to one side of the map to give more attack options. The spawns are chosen based on having cover or hills protecting them, or stone blocks are strewn around the map to provide that protection. In addition, the overpass has a break in it and out of bounds lines in such a way that neither side gets a great opportunity to spawn kill the opposing side. Custom AI Like I said, the AI is customized to give it a purpose. You won't join a game by yourself and just see the AI wandering aimlessly, idling, or waiting for you to appear. The AI that just waits for you and then instantly nails you is not fun. This AI is different. Aside for the ones who get stuck in vehicles and can't figure out how to drive, you should see the AI quite active. Although still dumb as rocks, you should not be too annoyed with the AI bots while waiting for the server to fill. I may disable AI from entering vehicles in the future. I have considered it, but have not yet decided if that is a good or bad idea. At least the AI chilling in the carts gives some additional variety. Feedback Now here is where I need you. These maps haven't been properly tested. Besides a few players every now and then, none of them have got a very good shake-down. The XP farming really screwed everything up for a while, and no one could very well host or join anything without a lot of effort. I need traffic and feedback so that I can tweak things. Maps? I said "These Maps", but there is only one here! I have more. All of them are similarly unique in one way or another and have custom AI and can be won or lost. I can only host one map at a time, so I chose the one I thought would get more interest; but I have others. Please feel free to join or host any of these maps and enjoy and share the experience. Free to Play: "F2P REDSEC - Team Deathmatch" : Golf Course and Tech Sector map rotation of Team Deathmatch. Golf Course features the same design you see above. Tech Sector is mostly un-modified and can be based on feedback. Deathmatch AI has a purpose and you will see them on a mission. Hardcore: Z3Q8X Standard core: Z91ZJ "F2P - Golf Course - King of the Hill - Clubhouse" : I described it above. Hardcore: Z6ZFK Standard core: ZAEF4 "Golf Course - Custom Bots - Infantry Conquest": 20 v 20 small conquest at golf course with many objectives in close proximity. The chaos some people crave. Hardcore: ZC34V Standard: ZC2RY "Friends vs Friends F2P TDM with Team Switching": 16 vs 16 (max) TDM to play against your friends. Bots are off by default. Each spawn area has a sign you can interact with in order to switch to the other team, or to turn bot fill on. Host it with a password if you don't want randoms to join. ZG383 "Friends vs Friends F2P Infantry Conquest with Team Switching": 20 vs 20 (max) Conquest Small to play against your friends. Bots are off by default. Each spawn area has a sign you can interact with in order to switch to the other team, or to turn bot fill on. Host it with a password if you don't want randoms to join. ZGGTZ Battlefield Owners: "Hardcore Team Deathmatch - Small Maps - Bot Fill" : A rotation of Saints Quarter and Empire State with Hardcore settings. Experience the experience that EA forgot to make. Tons of fun and action! YKBXU "Casual Conquest with Bot Control and Team Switching": Large scale conquest that is a faithful reproduction of the real thing, except with the ability to play against bots and level up your skill. ZGQ1G and ZH6YV (duplicate caused by progressive version updates) "Night Conquest...": Two conquest servers like the previous, but at night. One is dark and blue, to mimic a full moon night as best as possible with the tools available, while the other is lighter and has a green NVG effect. The one with the NVG effect has 3rd person vehicle cameras disabled in order to not break the immersion, and swaps between dark and NVG effect between death and redeploy/revive to further enhance the effect. Dark (moon) mode: ZMQMZ NVG (green light boosted) mode: ZMBXX IRNV (infrared white hot) mode: ZNT41 "Large 32 vs 32 TDM...": Classic conquest maps with vehicles and everything, but no objectives. The only objective is to get at the top of the scoreboard, be on the winning team, have a sweet KDR, or have a killer streak.
