Apple Gift Card Promo - April/May 2025

purchased both a $50 and a $25 and when i put in the $25 one it  said i was able to receive the rewards but when i put in the $50 nothing happened logged into the game and no rewards

I'd strongly suggest passing on this promotion.  I bought the $50 Gift Card, got the card from Target with no problems, but no promotional items.  Target said, there's nothing they can do - call Apple.  Apple said, there's nothing we can do, call EA.  Anyone want to guess where EA directed me?  If you guessed Target - you'd be right.  

Apparently when you "redeem" the card, you're supposed to get a pop up asking if you want to redeem the SWGOH promotional items, which takes you to a second pop-up which says "open" and you click on that to logon to the game and you get the rewards.  

I never got the first pop up, and Target, Apple and EA all seem unable or unwilling to send me another attempt.  So if, for any reason, you do not get that pop up, you're basically declining the promotional items that would come with the card.  There's no way to cancel the card and apparently no way to get a new promotional item link.  You're just completely out of luck, so sorry, thanks for trying.

Buyers beware

Same thing happened to me with the $50 gift card. When I redeemed, Apple gave me the option accept the benefits, I accepted, clicked open to open SWGOH, and nothing. I gave it some time but it’s been 2 hours and still nothing

The issue last year was you had to buy regular eGift cards, and at the time Target also had holiday eGift cards that weren't eligible

Imagine that....something that involves $$ resulting in CGs failure to deliver what is due to the customer

Updated  Talked to an Apple Supervisor who said my issue was that the PC client was running while I was trying to redeem my Target gift card via iOS on my phone device.  I had the rewards, he could see it on my account, but I wasn't getting credit because of a known issue with the App Store.

Solution was to turn off the PC Client, delete the SWGOH app on my phone, re-download the app and the reward screen popped up after a couple of minutes when the Game Center logged me in.  If you don't automatically logon to your EA/Apple account, you may need to connect your account to the re-downloaded game first.

So there's apparently a fix if you redeemed the Gift Card but are missing your rewards.  You may need to contact Apple Support to verify if they can see the bundle on your account and if they do, you should probably delete the app and re-download it, especially if you are also using the PC Client when you were trying to download the bonus items on your phone.

Attempted Kothas solution listed above. I purchased and applied the promo via IPhone app store so different initial issue but I too can see the promo bundles in my purchase history despite missing rewards. Deleting the app and restoring didn't work for me, but hopefully it will others. Sad Kothas is doing more about it than EA support 😂

There have been reports of it not working at neither sainsburys or asda in the UK, do we know why its not working? 

It did not work for me in the Asda uk.
