NHL 25 WISHLIST (YES ALREADY)
So I throw this out there every year, and sometimes maybe someone reads it and an update gets made (I was throwing Create a Team out there for years back in the early 2000s, and they finally added it! I know, it wasn’t me, but it felt like a win). Player Editing: We should be able to edit CPU-created players in Franchise Mode. Especially now that they've blocked being able to change Player Roles or Position. You luck out with a draft pick who's a Medium-Elite at 18, but his potential is an Elite Grinder? What even is that? And too often they have these goofy hairdos or are 19 and grey already, or you can wind up with three draft prospects that have the same default face (they still haven't even given actual faces to players like Kevin Hayes or Ivan Provorov, who've been in the league for years, yet kids in the CHL they have down to the pimple). We should at least have the same edit access that we do at the Main Menu level (add a Second Position, change a Playmaker to a Two-Way as they age). The Draft: I still don’t get why we can’t just see players’ ratings like you can in the Main Menu’s Rosters section. So before you start a Mode, you can see that a Junior player is a 62 Medium-Top 6, but on Draft Day it’s a bunch of question marks and “Possible” Top 6? You can see exact ratings in Free Agency, why not on draft day? I auto draft every time because it doesn’t matter what criteria I try and go by, they never work out. I turn off Fog of War for this reason, it should extend to draft picks. And this they finally added! The Stanley Cup celebration: The handoff of the Cup was so random as to seem pointless. I suggested (and I know I'm not the only one), “How about a setting in Edit Lines where you can set the handoff order, like you can with Shootout, or even just an edit so that the C hands to an A, him to the other A, and then the starting G? Since they only do four handoffs.” And they listened! I mean, I'll never get to it (because 'Flyers'), but You’re welcome, EA NHL Community. I love that we got Career Totals back, and that they added Team Abbreviations as to where they played, but can't that be added for AHL stats as well? I know they keep track of them, as they show when their on the bench after milestones, so why not a running total? I'll get 10 years into Franchise Mode and some career AHLers will retire and nothing. You play 1,000 AHL Games…that’s something. Ability to decide awards: Too often, in Franchise Mode, if you’re playing your best players to pad stats, you’ll win the Hart or Norris every year, even though another player would be the obvious choice. It would be great to decide winners so that the highest scoring defenseman doesn’t win the Norris every year, or the Hart going hand-in-hand with the Art Ross more often than not, or Connor McDavid winning the Selke based on whatever algorithm they’re using. Choose retirements/unretire: I play Franchise Mode with Auto Save off so I can choose to accept who's retiring. I’ve had the game try and retire 26-year-old minor leaguers who had no injury history (something Madden actually takes into consideration), and I’ve had the game retire Ovechkin with 996 Goals and an Overall 86 Rating. It would be great to be able to deselect (or reactivate) from the proposed list shown on View Retired Players. It would also be fun to elect retiring players to the HHOF, and Retire Jersey Numbers for your team with Franchise Mode. Pipe dreams, I know, but still…this is a wishlist. And while we’re at it, a banner raising ceremony at the start of the season following a Cup win? Franchise (Owner) Mode used to have a screen that displayed your team’s seasons, so you could see your history: 103 Points, Third Round; 98 Points, Lost Final; etc. I’d like to see that back. Winter Classic: I miss the Winter Classic venue they created a few years back. You could only play a single game, but wouldn't it be awesome if the team you select in Franchise Mode got to play the Winter Classic every year? Just make it the first game you play in January and you get that outdoor setting with weather selections like they have in Madden, or just default cloudy skies with flurries. They used to have the All-Star Game jammed in there, so can't they just use that same approach for the Classic? Anyway, maybe the CEO will read this and realize all my genius suggestions, but most likely we’ll just get NHL 25 with different Main Menu colors. Edit: Moved thread to the Game Suggestions forum. -CMAEZ12 years agoNew Traveler41KViews13likes52CommentsNHL 24 1.1.0 Patch Notes - Update coming 10/6
Hey everyone, A new Patch is coming to NHL 24 at 5 a.m. ET on Friday, October 6th. Please complete any online games prior to this as there may be server instability during this time. The servers are expected to be stable again around 6 a.m. ET. Although not available in this patch, we’re aiming to deliver the previously announced Hybrid Controls and Goalie Control updates in late October. We appreciate your patience surrounding these features and are working to get them into the game as soon as possible. We’re also looking to make additional changes to the Lacrosse move in a future update based on your feedback: Adding in the chance of failure for the face button produced lacrosse move by assigning a probability of dropping the puck based on deking rating. For skill stick players, allow fewer error frames on the rotational skill stick input for lower rated players (the lowest will be equivalent to NHL 23). 1.1.0 Patch Notes (Available Friday, October 6th) Gameplay --- - Puck Possession Tuned Down 30% - We have lowered the impact that possessing the puck has in the offensive zone with regards to building sustained pressure. The value of possessing the puck has been lowered by 30%. Shots on net and big hits in the offensive zone are now strengthened as the best way to build sustained pressure. Note: This change was planned to be reflected in a previous patch but had been delayed until Patch 1.1.0 Franchise ---- - Fixed a crash that happened when a generated player born after 2008 was edited. - Fixed an issue where a non-functional button would be displayed when a user tried to hire staff during the offseason Be A Pro --- - Fixed a rare crash when on a loading screen going into gameplay - Fixed an issue where smoke effects could be seen during a coach conversation after losing a game in overtime. World of Chel ---- - Fixed a rare crash when customizing your casual player - Fixed an issue where user would sometimes lose the ability to back out of the World of CHEL Store. - Fixed an issue where in Ones Eliminator the mute functionality was not present in the post-game menu screens - Fixed an issue where if a user goalie quit during a drop in match the game would end for all players - Fixed a crash that would happen if a user created a club and then entered free skate prior to Club Creation Zone appearing - Fixed a crash when entering into Club Customization or Dressing Room screens - Fixed an issue where some drop-in users weren't able to match up in World of CHEL Hockey Ultimate Team --- - Fixed a crash that would happen when selecting Squad Battle Teams - Fixed a rare crash that would happen at the end of HUT Rush games General ---- - Fixed an issue when reporting players for a terrorist threat you would be taken to the main menu. The game will now report the player properly NHL 24 Patch 1.0.1 Reminder (Released Monday, October 2nd) - Early release patch notes We’d also like to remind you of the changes that are already reflected in-game based on your feedback from the Community Playtest, as we’ve noticed some confusion online on which gameplay changes have already made their way into the game vs what haven’t. Sustained Pressure System Tuning Decay Rate of Pressure Meter Increased by 100% - The new tuning sees the meter decay faster once the puck is cleared outside of the defensive zone by the defending team. This creates a more authentic feel to sustained pressure as the offensive team must keep a consistent attack in the offensive zone in order to activate full pressure. Previously the offensive team could attack, leave the zone and then re-attack to slowly build the meter which ultimately did not feel authentic to the sport. Full pressure as a result will be slightly tougher to trigger during each period of play. Goalie Fatigue System Goalies Recover When Puck Exits Defensive Zone - Previously goalies would only regenerate their energy during active play when the puck crossed over the opposing team’s blueline. This resulted in the goalie remaining tired for too long and throwing too many desperation saves. We have changed this to now by having goalies start to recover immediately when the puck exits the defensive zone. This means more peaks and valleys with goalie fatigue rather than consistent fatigued states. Fatigue Meter Always Visible - To create better overall understanding of the state of the goalie’s fatigue during gameplay the respective fatigue meter will be visible at all times. This will enable players to attack and defend better based on always knowing the relevant state of the goalie’s fatigue level. Goalie Attributes Have Increased Impact on Drain & Recovery - We have increased the impact that a goalie’s respective attributes have on both energy drain and recovery. This means breaking down a higher rated goalie will be more difficult as compared to a lower rated goalie as they will recover energy faster and fatigue slower. Goalies More Stable When Rested - Goalies have been tuned to be more stable and positional when above 50% energy. This means that you will see fewer desperation saves overall when a goalie is in what is deemed a reasonable rested state. Physics Based Contact Big Checks Deal Slightly More Stamina Damage - Any big checks that are landed during gameplay will add more stamina damage to the target player and bringing into play the longer recovery get up states.. Player Size Carries More Impact on Reverse Hit Outcomes - Player size now factors more predominantly into the reverse hits that connect during a game. Smaller players will be far less likely to run through a larger player due to a size mismatch whereas a larger player will be far more likely to run over a smaller player. Performing A Reverse Hit Results In Some Slowdown - We have added a small slowdown event that occurs when any reverse hit is thrown during gameplay to provide more balance to the mechanic. This will address the issue where a player can reverse hit a defender and then continue at full speed up the ice. Hip Checks in Low Speed Situations - The relative speed of both the puck carrier and defensive player throwing the hip check will now be taken into consideration in these game situations resulting in less dramatic hip checks during slower pace of play moments. Global Lacrosse Deke Tuning Lacrosse Deke (The Michigan) Effectiveness Tied to Deke Ability - In an effort to help control the impact of the lacrosse deke on the overall game experience we have connected it to a player’s deking attribute. The tuning change results in the speed of the deke being impacted. A lower deke attribute will result in the animation taking longer to execute and a higher attribute will result in a faster execution of the deke. This applies globally no matter which controller setting you are playing on. X-Factor Tuning Close Quarters - This X-factor has had the following tuning to make it more balanced for competitive play. Reduced the distance required to activate Close Quarters from 30 to 20 feet Reduced the accuracy bonus of Close Quarters by 50% Reduced the accuracy bonus of Close Quarters Superstar Ability by 75% Human Goalies Tuning Increased Tether Distance - A human goalie using the new Tether Controls now has an expanded area to move within this control set. We have increased the movement range from 3 feet to 5 feet allowing for more ability to cut down angles and overall freedom of movement. Increased Goalie Instinct Boost When Correct - When a human goalie guesses the shot target correctly after engaging the Instinct System, they will receive a higher boost to their respective save probability. Removed Goalie Instinct Penalty When Incorrect - The penalty applied to a human goalie when they guess incorrectly within the Instinct System has been removed. Any incorrect guess will not carry any additional impact on the save scenario. Reduced Fatigue Impact on Human Goalies - Given how human goalies will potentially make more adjustments in game as compared to AI goalies, we have slightly softened the over fatigue impact on human goalies. Pokecheck Reverted Speed Loss to NHL23 Tuning - We have tuned back the speed loss that was added during production back to the same tuning that was shipped in NHL23. General Gameplay Tuning Nets Being Knocked Off Less - We have tuned down how often nets are knocked off the moorings to have it happen less frequently. Glass Breaking - We have tuned down how often the glass will break so that it happens less frequently.EA_Aljo2 years agoCommunity Manager30KViews7likes0CommentsHUT Objectives 2.0 Quick Guide
Hello HUT Community, We’re excited for the release of NHL 24, and the new Objectives 2.0 feature in HUT - which will feature real time tracked objectives based on gameplay actions. In order to help players better understand what is being asked of them, we’ve created this HUT Objectives 2.0 Quick Guide so you can check back if you’re having any trouble. Some of these might be self explanatory, but just in case you run into trouble we wanted to have this available for you, let's go through the specific objectives now: GOALS Goals - Simply score any type of goal Rebound Goals - Put the puck on net, force the goalie to make the save, and slam home the rebound. Deflected Goals - Take a shot on net and have your teammate tip the puck to put it in PowerPlay Goal - Score with the man advantage Short-handed Goal - Score while a man down on the penalty kill. Penalty Shot Goal - Score a goal on a Penalty Shot Top Shelf Goal - Score a goal with the puck hitting one of the top corners of the net Top Left Corner Goal - Score a goal with the puck hitting the top left corner of the net Top Right Corner Goal - Score a goal with the puck hitting the top right corner of the net Bottom Left Corner Goal - Score a goal with the puck hitting the bottom left corner of the net Bottom Right Corner Goal - Score a goal with the puck hitting the bottom right corner of the net Shootout Goal - Score a goal in a shootout taking place at the end of a match Breakaway Goal - Score a goal while all alone against the goalie One Timer Goal - Score from passing to a teammate and immediately taking the shot, this has been updated in HUT 24 to include what were previously known as redirect shots (one timers close into the net). POINTS Assists - Assist on a goal with the specified player, item, or team. Points - Get a goal or an assist with the specified player, or item. CHECKS Hits - Any body, shoulder, or hip check will count as a “Hit” Stick Check - Any poke check, sweep check, or stick lift will count as a “Stick Check” Poke Check - While on defense, press the Right Bumper (Xbox) or R1 Button (PlayStation) and successfully poke the poke off the stick of an opposing player. Stick Lift - Performed with the A-Button (Xbox) or X-Button (PlayStation), use this near opponents carrying the puck to take their possession away. Sweep Check - While on defense, Hold the Right Bumper (Xbox) or R1 Button (PlayStation) and swipe the right stick to the left or right to knock the puck loose from an offensive player. PASSES Pass - Complete any pass with the Right Trigger (Xbox) or R2 Button (PlayStation) Saucer Pass - Complete a saucer pass in the offensive zone with the Right Bumper (Xbox) or R1 Button (PlayStation) Drop Pass - Let your player slow down and start gliding and tap the Right Bumper (Xbox) or R1 Button (PlayStation) and the player will let go of the puck, next have your teammate take possession quickly. SHOTS Shots - Simply take any shot on goal, for this and all other shots the goalie must attempt a save. Slap Shot - (While going up on the screen) Wind up by moving the right stick down, and then quickly up to execute a slap shot. Wrist Shot - An example is while going up on the screen with a player that shoots left, use the right stick and move the puck all the way to the left, then down, then up to shoot a wrist shot. Snap Shot - Press up on the right stick to quickly execute a snapshot. Backhand Shot - (While going up on the screen with a player that shoots left) Use the right stick and deke to the right so the player is on his backhand, press up on the right stick to release the shot. Wraparound Shot - Go behind the opposing teams net and press the shoot button while moving around to the front of the net. One Timer Shot - Pass to a teammate and immediately take the shot, this has been updated in HUT 24 to include what were previously known as redirect shots (one timers close into the net). DEKE SHOTS Lacrosse Deke Shot - While behind the opponents net and moving out front on your backhand, press the Y-Button (Xbox) or Triangle Button (PlayStation) to attempt a Lacrosse Deke Shot. Quick Tip: Try holding on to the Y-Button longer behind the net. One Handed Tuck Shot - While moving toward the net press the A-Button (Xbox) or X-Button (PlayStation) to have the player perform a One Handed Tuck Shot Toe Drag Shot - While in the offensive zone, press the X-Button (Xbox) or Square Button (PlayStation) to perform a toe drag shot. Between the Legs Shot - While in the offensive zone, press the B-Button (Xbox) or Circle Button (PlayStation) to perform a Between the Legs Shot. OTHER Shot Block - On defense, block the path of the puck on the way to the net using a skater. While on defense you can press the Left Bumper (Xbox) or L1 Button (PlayStation) to position yourself for a kneeling shot block. Faceoff Win - Successfully gain possession of the puck for your team on a faceoff Any Deke - Achieved by using the Left Bumper (Xbox) or L1 Button (PlayStation), only doing it in situations where you are near an opposing player will count.EA_Aljo2 years agoCommunity Manager19KViews6likes13CommentsNHL on Nintendo Switch and/or PC
Hey guys, why doesn't the new NHL also come out on Nintendo Switch or PC again? I have two kids, they both have Switch and we also have a couple of PCs. We all love ice hockey and would like to play NHL on our PCs and handhelds. If FC24 is coming out on Switch, why not the NHL? Nintendo Switch is a very popular platform. According to available information, around 130 million units were sold. Nintendo consoles are more popular than ever before. Mainly, Nintendo is the most suitable console for small children and it is also handheld. Currently Nintendo is preparing a new version of Switch 2 with a new CPU and GPU with support for DLSS 2 and Ray tracing. This will remove HW limitations. Switch 2 is released in the middle of 2024. I believe in the success of NHL 25 on the Switch platform. Possibly also on PC. PC is in every home and office. Even Playstation exclusives are already released on PC. I would also really like to have NHL in my steam library for boring work days. Please think about it. I alone will have to buy three copies. 🙂 Thank you. Best regards. eMz18KViews1like3CommentsPlayer Ratings Updates

Hey NHL Fans, Here are the 1.2.0 Patch Notes set to go live on November 9th at 12 p.m ET. Please complete any online games prior as the servers may become unstable an hour following the patch deployment. 1.2.0 Patch Notes (Go-Live November 9th, 12 p.m ET.) Gameplay ---- Community Feedback: Lacrosse Shot is too easy to perform with low dekeing rated players. - Added a chance to bobble a Lacrosse attempt while performing the move using the Total Control skill move button. The lower the deke attribute rating on the skater, the higher the chance for a bobble. - Increased the difficulty of performing a Lacrosse attempt via Skillstick to match NHL23. The right stick now requires a more consistent Rotation Speed or the skater will lose the puck. - Skilled Up X-Factor improves the playback speed of the animation like before and keeps control of the puck similar to last patch Community Feedback: Players are taking unintentional push check related penalties in the offensive zone when trying to one time or shoot a loose puck. - Holding Vision Control, while in the offensive zone and opponent doesn’t possess the puck will now prioritize Shooting over Hitting when using the Right Stick. Community Feedback: Players have found unintentional ways to shoot the puck while charging a Pass, resulting in ‘curve’ shots or unrealistic shot animations. - Fixed the reported issues so players cannot trigger the wrong shot animations and gain an unfair advantage. Community Feedback: Charging a Shoulder Check can cause your skater to gain a quick boost of speed as they align for a hit which allows them to catch up to players unintentionally. - The maximum velocity a skater can reach while charging a hit has been capped. - Removed the bonus Hit Assistance while using Truculence Zone Ability. Community Feedback: Goalies are stuck in their poke check animation too long without being able to breakout into a save. This allows players to easily bait them into a poke and then score. Some poke check animations take too long for the goalie to extend and recover. - After the apex of a Goalies poke check animation, they are now able to break out into a save animation. - Extremely long poke check animations have been shortened to be more consistent with the rest of the poke check animations. Community Feedback: Players have found a high percentage way to score, while shooting the puck while the goalie is transitioning off Hug Post in a specific pose. - Slightly increased the distance a Goalie will stay hugging the post when a skater comes out of the corner, allowing them to make more controlled butterfly saves. Community Feedback: Players have found a way to gain an unintentional boost of speed while saucer passing to themselves with certain skaters and from the backhand. - The distance the puck travels at minimum power saucer pass is now based on player velocity, pushing the puck further from the player. Community Feedback: Skaters unintentionally enter the Slap Shot windup animation after stopping Protect Puck while holding right stick in a downward angle. - Users must release the right stick to the neutral position and push the stick down again to trigger a slapshot windup from protect puck. Other Fixes: - Fixed an issue where Vision Pass Icons remained visible after the end of a Period. - Fixed an issue where NHL Skaters who lost their helmet would not skate directly to the bench. - Fixed an issue when using Vision Pass to pass to an extra attacker could trigger a poke check animation. - Fixed an issue where a team may accidentally get a too many men penalty in OT. - Fixed an issue where an extra Goalie Indicator was visible in Ones. - Fixed an issue where the faceoff location after a net is knocked off the moorings was incorrect. - Fixed an issue where certain Shot Block animations were playing incorrectly. - Fixed an issue where Goalies can get push checked through the net while in Hug Post. - Fixed an issue where Nets were coming off the mooring too easily during gameplay. Tournament ---- Champions Hockey League - Added new rules for the tournament. - Minor penalties are dealt the same as a major penalty: a team which caused a minor penalty will remain shorthanded even if the opposing team score a goal - Serving delayed penalties: a minor penalty will be served even if a goal is scored while a delayed penalty is pending - Shorthanded goal erases current minor penalty: if a shorthanded team score, the minor penalty against will end Franchise ---- - Added Regulation Wins to Standings - Added more chemistry links between X-Factors for abilities based in skating, shooting and puck skills - Increased impact of total player worth when running Head Coach Preferred Lines for all Coaches - Fixed an issue where CPU teams couldn't sign 2-way contracts when up against the salary cap, this change helps teams sign more contracts - Fixed an issue with CPU teams signing AHL potential players to entry level contracts in Free Agency and during the Re-Sign Phase, this change can prevent teams from signing more contracts and these changes end up canceling out, causing CPU teams to sign roughly the same number of players as before, however they will be signing players who have a better chance at developing - Fixed issue with the stats shown on the Conn Smythe trophy overlay - Fixed an issue where players without scouted X-Factors showed up in Player Search when filtering by players with X-Factors - Improved rookie signing logic so CPU teams can hold off on signing lower overall prospects who have potential until they develop - Improved CPU team logic so they sign low overall AHL potential players in free agency less frequently Creation Zone ---- - Removed invalid UI popup when creating a large number of players and teams - Added Chel branded NHL goalie equipment to offline creation zone - Music now ducks when previewing player audio emotes in Creation Zone - Various UI Fixes - Fixed an issue causing players to be unable to bypass NHL23-level player, goalie and team creation limits. Players will now be able to create: - 80 total teams - 1750 total skaters - 250 total goalies Presentation ---- - Faceoff Hype Spotlights - Reduced brightness intensity. Animated logos no longer converge on ref's puck-dropping hand. - Goal Multiplier Banner now properly appears in broadcast flow in HUT Rush - Fix for the score clock displaying remaining time incorrectly - Improved authenticity of Detroit Red Wings goal horn - Improved authenticity of Buffalo Sabres goal horn - three blasts Commentary ---- - Fix for incorrect reference to overtime in shootout mode - Fix for incorrect reference to "first goal" on goals scored in WoC drop-in - Improvement to Shot Block commentary flow - Fix for intro speech incorrectly referencing teams being from Western/Eastern conference teams World of Chel ---- Matchmaking Update: Community Feedback: When forming a Drop-in Team in WOC, users may have to wait the full matchmaking time looking for a User Goalie who may not be available. Once a Drop-in Team has reached Max Skaters, the team will continue to search for a User Goalie for 5 seconds and then automatically begin searching for an opponent. Club Info / Player Stats Drawer Update: In preparation for EASHL Club Finals, we have restructured the way the Club Info / Player Stats Drawer appears in WOC modes. The info displayed will be relevant to the mode you are currently in, with the ability to toggle between Club Info and Skater/Goalie stats using the Right Stick. Creation Zone Update in World of CHEL: Community Feedback: The multiple presets within CZ is very confusing to users, many of which don’t even realize they have to customize Home and Away separately for Skater Casual and Pro as well as Goalie Causal and Pro Consolidated the Home/Away/Alternate outfit Presets to a single button instead of a subscreen to make the switch between each simpler to understand. Edits from Character Appearance (inclusive of applying a special character), Details, Shot Style, and Skating Style will be copied between Home/Away/Alternate outfit presets, so the user doesn’t have to manually maintain these changes for consistency between them. We did leave everything else to be manually edited so a user could decide they may want a completely different clothing and equipment style between Home/Away for example. - Fixed a crash that would occur when a user navigates to the customization screen from recent items after opening the World of Chel Starter bag - Fixed an issue where Player names are displayed as "EA PLAYER" throughout Leaderboards - Fixed an issue where the Ones/Threes Eliminator leaderboards were not displaying the rankings - Fixed an issue where push checks were leading to a lot of penalties around the net - NHL24 - January 25th Tuner Updates: Available at 12 PM EST Offensive Puck Ragging: Community Feedback: Players can take advantage of the Full Pressure system to puck rag in the offensive zone and run out the clock. Removed the Adrenaline Energy Modifier so the offensive team will drain energy at their normal rate. Removed the Pinned Attribute Debuff for the defensive team. Full Pressure will continue to modify the energy drain for defensive skaters. This puts emphasis on defending teams to pick their moments to attack the puck carrier, and allow teams to get fresh legs on the ice if there is a whistle. Community Feedback: Pressure should not be gained through simple offensive zone puck possession. This encourages players to continuously cycle the puck to build up Pressure instead of actively attacking the opposing team. Severely reduced the amount of pressure gained through Offensive Puck Possession. Hustling and Energy: Community Feedback: Straight line hustling is a very prominent strategy. Skaters who have no energy are able to hustle at high speed, allowing them to stay ahead of defenders even when exhausted. Tiring out a skater should carry more risk, making players pick their moments to Hustle or conserve energy. Hustling when exhausted will no longer provide any hustle speed bonus. Increased Hustle Energy drain by 33%.. Increased overall Energy impact to max skating speed by 10%. Player’s max skating speed is now affected when their energy is 33% depleted. Previously, max skating speed was affected when their energy was 50% depleted. Reduced WOC Energy Drain from acceleration by 16%, to make it consistent with other modes. Additional Updates: Further reduced the CPU Teammate Penalty slider to lower the chances of CPU Teammate penalties.EA_Aljo2 years agoCommunity Manager15KViews9likes68CommentsNHL 24 Gameplay Tuner
Hey Everyone, Today at 1 PM ET we’re releasing a new Roster Update and Gameplay Tuner. The Roster Update is transaction-based to reflect changes made across the various leagues. Below you can find the gameplay changes coming to NHL 24. December Gameplay Tuner Updates: Community Feedback: CPU Teammates are taking too many penalties which can be frustrating as it feels out of the user’s control. Reduced the chance of CPU Teammate Penalties by adjusting the default setting of the CPU Teammate Penalty slider setting from 15 to 5. Community Feedback: Charging penalties are being called too often, especially on Shoulder Checks where the hitter is veering into the check. Increased the amount of frames a Skater must be traveling in a straight line for a Shoulder Check to be considered for a Charging Penalty. Community Feedback: Defenders who are facing the puck are not attempting to intercept a hard pass, especially when the pass is made tight to their body. This is allowing offensive players to force charge passes through well positioned defenders for close cross crease goals. Greatly increased the base pass intercept reaction time for skaters, increasing their ability to attempt pass intercepts quicker especially when facing the puck. Community Feedback: Holding RB/R1 and RS to Flip Dump takes too long to charge and makes using this action too ineffective, especially when under pressure or when trying to use this on the forecheck to get a puck deep. Increased the speed to fully charge up a Flip Dump by 20%. Community Feedback: While carrying the puck, Skaters with a higher speed attribute can be caught by a skater with a lower speed attribute. The Puck-Carrier speed penalty reduces the differentiation between skaters and can lead to small confusion with new players who aren’t familiar with this system. Increased Puck-Carrier skating speed by 2%. Increased Back Skating speed by 2% to keep speed balanced with Puck Carrier speed. Increased the Wheels X-Factor Zone Ability bonus by 30% to allow Skaters with this Zone Ability to skate at maximum speed. Increased the In Reverse X-Factor Zone Ability bonus to allow Skaters with this X-Factor to pivot faster. Additional Fixes: Fixed an issue which caused a Pass while your team is offside to have a high chance of being bobbledEA_Aljo2 years agoCommunity Manager15KViews4likes83CommentsAlumni players in NHL 24

Did NHL 24 casually become available on PC?!?! It does require Gamepass Ultimate but you can now play NHL 24 via cloud gaming. Not quite install to PC and play but better than nothing for those that do not have a console but want to play Hockey. Was this intended? Why wasn't this talked about at all? I checked when it was added to Gamepass but it wasn't available via cloud until recently at some point.hiperay2 years agoSeasoned Veteran11KViews0likes10CommentsNHL 24 Player Ratings Updates

This might be a stupid question, but I don't get the new checking controls in NHL 24 on PS5. According to the help menu, a body check is performed using the circle button. But apparently you can use the right stick as before as well. What are the differences? The screenshot is in Swedish, but the circle one translates to "body check". The upper one for the right stick translates to "push check", and the lower one to "shoulder check". I'm really thankful for any clarification!10KViews0likes2CommentsSliders need to be better explained and fixed
Be A Pro sliders make no sense. When adjusting sliders, human sliders should ONLY affect the human player, not the CPU teammates. When adjusting sliders, in attempt to make scoring easier, cpu teammates run up the score. It takes me 15-20 shots on goal to get one past the goalie, while CPU teammates end up scoring 4 and 5 a game. I’ve tried many combinations.10KViews0likes3CommentsHUT Update
We wanted to reach out and provide clarity around the new reward structure you’ve been seeing across HUT as well as our future plans surrounding it. Firstly, our intention was to never give less value for playing Rivals or Squad Battles when we first introduced this new collectibles system, but it’s fair to say that we may have misevaluted their value which led to justifiable frustration. One of our goals with this new system is to allow more flexibility and the ability to choose rewards that matter most to you based on your current team situation. We’re also hoping to build longer-term goals with the collectibles (like you see with the 86 OVR Kucherov) and have you aquire larger guaranteed rewards than you could earn under the old system. These sets will progress alongside overall increases throughout the year to ensure you’re always getting proper value for your time in the various game modes. We plan on continuing to tweak and add new sets as time goes on, continuing to find new offerings to best utilize all collectibles and your feedback will be vital in helping us find what works best. We’ve been monitoring the feedback surrounding this and will be adjusting the collectibles rewarded during this week of Rivals/Squad Battles and moving forward. Rivals Rewards: We will be adjusting the rewards for the current running Rivals immediately so that you’ll receive updated rewards when Rivals end next week. We will be reverting Option 2 (the untradeable pack option) of the rewards back to the original rewards we had last year. For Option 1 rewards, we will bring back all the top value packs at each tier/div as they were in previous years, the lesser value pack will be replaced with enough collectibles to purchase the same pack as well as have additional collectibles left over to work towards more rewards. We will also be adjusting the value of some sets to give collectibles even more value than they had previously. These changes will allow you to choose between earning rewards towards the collectible path or the standard untradeable option from previous years. Squad Battle Rewards: We will also be adjusting the rewards for the currently running Squad Battles immediately so that you will get updated rewards when Squad Battles end next week. Similarly to Rivals, the lesser value pack in each reward tier will be replaced with enough collectibles to purchase the same lesser value pack that was swapped with some collectibles left over. Some Squad Battle sets will be adjusted to make the value of collectibles even higher. HUT Rush: We’ve seen the issues coming from certain objectives/prompts not properly triggering and moving forward we will be avoiding these types of objectives until those issues are resolved. Event/Power-Up Collectibles: We’re adding a HUT Headliner Collectible to a Power-Up Collectible set. We’re adding more HUT Headliner Collectible sets that allow higher OVR players to be exchanged for a HUT Headliner Collectible(s). We’re adding more Power-Up Collectible sets that allow higher OVR players to be exchanged for a Power-Up Collectible(s). --- We appreciate the continued feedback coming from the community, please feel free let us know your thoughts on these changes or any other recommendations on anything HUT. I like the idea of the pressure thing in NHL 24 but I am all for the feeling of realism in hockey games and that icon would drive me crazy if i have to play with it all the time. So do you think you can turn that off?coolspot7772 years agoSeasoned Hotshot8.7KViews20likes170Comments
