Re: Please make Garden Warfare 3!

Right there with you! I don't know EA's internal systems, like how they decide to move people from one dev team to another, or who should make what, but GW3 needs to be a thing and sooner rather than later. I get that BfN didn't meet expectations or they'd have kept it alive with full support and new content even now, but that doesn't meant we don't want a new game!

I'd also love for those that state we'll never get another PvZ shooter to be wrong, as long as it's another gem like the GW games! As recent as just last month, GW2 videos can get tens of thousands of views, even with no new content and the existence of BfN, and a lot of us are eager for GW3 to be a thing. It can certainly be a winner for all involved (EA, devs, and the fans), if its handled well.

I believe that the PopCap studio that was responsible for creating the shooters have moved on to another project, most likely the Skate one, but I do firmly believe that we still have a chance of seeing a Garden Warfare 3 in the future (or a Battle for Neighborville 2 but the former makes more sense to me). The current ones are generally lots of fun to play still, but over time the player base of these games will dwindle, so I still hope for a new shooter. If we get a new shooter, I am guessing that either the PopCap studio that works on mobile games could do it, or that a new or current studio could be opened to work on this new shooter. Consider what worked well in Garden Warfare 1 and 2, as well as the good features that Battle for Neighborville had, and expand on that.

Again, I still firmly believe that it could happen and I will wait for it. If EA announces this new project, they can take their time to create the game, but make sure it is advertised properly and that the game is communicated enough so that many players know about the upcoming game in advance. This would probably have a major impact in its possible success. So yes I do hope for a new shooter! 🤞

At the time of publication of the first GW game in 2014, I have always thought that it made economic sense to have both a mobile and a console game supporting the same game theme, and later found it incomprehensible that PopCap, by withdrawing support for the PC and console-based games but continuing with the mobile-based game effectively abandoned that business model.

Still can't see the sense in that decision when considering the popularity of the PC and console-based games. Despite being a GW2 aficionado I do on occasion still play GW1 and it's a full board every time here in Europe (....when school is over and not too late in the day!)

@PerniciousPea To be fair the gw games while successful were around almost 8-10 million each while mobile games like pvz 2 easily have triple that do to being f2p and can arguably make much more money due to the cost of microtransactions.

Still though the fact that both gw games were successful regardless speaks volumes about how badly Bfn screwed up and a lot of pre release development evidence downright confirms that.
