It should be recognized that this ISN'T a solution, just a work around. I don't have a long enough cable to play with my controller at my PC, so it's completely game breaking. I can't get more than 5 minutes in a game before it drops to 4 fps.
Is there an actual solution to this problem? I have the same issue. Even on the menu connecting my controller drops framerate to single digits. Turning the controller off immediately returns frames to the 120hz limiter. Having to plug in a wireless controller is not a solution.
I am having the same issue. I am using an Xbox One S controller via bluetooth. Randomly, it drops to 4 fps. Disconnecting the controller jumps the fps up to normal for me. Reconnecting the controller does not immediately cause performance issues, but it never happens without the controller connected. This makes no sense to me. I am fairly savvy, and I cannot see why there would be any sort of connection between using a controller wirelessly vs wired that would affect the frame rate. ESPECIALLY when this game was allegedly intended for controller. You would expect that there would have been extensive bug testing done here.

Hello there,
A player experienced the same issue and resolved it by changing the batteries in his controller. Might be worth checking out:
why does only this game have this issues? then it should be flag and consider as a fatal bug that need an official patch to fix it.
Hey guys, it's most likely not the game but your controller. I don't even have that game but noticed the problem lately in other games. It seems to get worse if the battery is low. I did a websearch (which is how I also ended up here) and just wanted to let you know that you should check if your controller is up to date. Download the Xbox Accessories App from Microsoft and then plugin your controller via USB after installing and starting the app. It will tell you if your controller needs an firmware update. Try again after you have installed the most recent firmware on your controller and see if the problem still occurs.
This defeats the purpose of having a blutooth controller, though, doesn't it? A cable is a work around, not a fix. Is there a fix? I'd like to sit further than my cable lengths from my screen.
