Re: Target indicator does not point to target

It's working for me now that I'm using 100% scaling for VR. I'm launching via Oculus, bypassing Steam VR.

  • Samsung Odyssey + here and it's not solved. The Target box is way off or missing from the actual target. In pancake screen mode it works fine. Tried covering the proximity sensor but no dice. Please look into this, this is a broken core mechanic to the gameplay.

Update: Solved the issue, in VR settings I disabled FOV filtering when turning and now the target box appears where it should. I'm very happy with the game now. 👍

@imclumzydisabled FOV filtering doesnt help on my setup. WMR Medion VR Headset... :-(

    Here's my procedure, YMMV.

Launch Windows Mixed Reality and ensure the cliff house appears.

Launch SteamVR, disable it's cliff house so you only see the grid. Position seat in the exact center of the mountain view grid.

Launch Squadrons in pancake mode. At the main menu, go into VR settings and make sure FOV filtering is off.  Toggle VR on and put on your headset.

You should know immediately if it worked, if I see the diagonal red lines up in my face then it didn't. In which case I try toggling the FOV filter on and off again.

    YMMV, good luck!

  • I am researching this problem. So far I think there is a problem with the VR position variable and its calculation. The target calculation is made up of the HMD position variable, HMD rotation variable, target position variable and HMD resolution variable. My guess is that the problem is with the VR position variable. This would also explain why it sometimes works for a few people. This is a bug can only be solved by the Devs. With debug informations this could be easliy fixed!

OK now it works for me!

Using Steam VR Beta and WMR for Steam Beta.

Make sure the wmr proximity sensor works correctly! If not, clean the sensor and if you are using a custom VR cover (like me) push the upper side a little up. Else the proximity sensor triggers all the time. This might be the major problem.

In system setting make sure change Input to automatic. So if you put the HMD on, the WMR Portal starts automaticlly and the grey bar (change win+ y .....)appears. This must happen!

    @ Devs:

Please remove the query of the sensor. This is not necessary for PC HMD and causes only problems. Besides the effect of the problem is that the boxes are not rendered behind the crosshair but in front of it.

    Hope it helps!
