Don't worry, this is a known issue already. The given workaround is to disable "link scanner surf-shield". Also, you can go back to an older version of AVG or switch to a different anti-virus program.

I have been told the very latest version of AVG corrects this issue, if it doesn't reverting to an older version as mentioned or disabling the link scanner surfshield is the workaround.
