Have you ever removed the loadingscreen.jpgs or use swtor unleashed ?
which version of the launcher are you using ? streaming ( letters ST in lower left ) or non streaming ?

nope. havnt deleted or changed anything. and dont seem to have this bitraider thing either, i cant find it in my swtor folder.
as for Streaming, not sure what you mean, i dont have any letters in the bottom left
In the game folder is a log folder can you attach the latest launcher log
can also initially try going to a clean boot and ensure the launcher is running as administrator

It appears to be halting on 217 , if you have eliminated the Antivirus etc and stumped
maybe the easiest way may be is too , copy the asset and movie folder to a temp location , also copy the launcher.settings file as well the .version files
delete everything there , use the disks or the setup from www.swotor.com/download , after the launcher updates and it is starting to patch, close the launcher , copy the launcher.settings file etc back and also the asset and movie folders and start the launcher
it should in theory see the existing files and start a fresh download, yet you have just refreshed the install.

nope that 1 didnt work either.
Did the clean install, copied back those files. It Redownloaded the patch, went to install main assets 218 and frozen again. exact same as before.
keep a copy of those files and folders for now
if you try the same thing in a different install location does it persist ?
if it does it likely has to be file related , it maybe worth biting the bullet and delete the asset folder and see if it starts patching correctly , yes it will be a large download , without knowing which file may be a cause it is difficult to eliminate as a cause.
thanks for the help proxo, just gonna have to "bite the bullet" and just redownload the lot. leave it on overnight.
