My amex gift card isn't working on the web store

I bought this gift card to buy the new bundles, only to find out that Amex has issues. I was able to make a purchase with it on Steam, but for some reason, on the webstore, it says, "Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method."  even though it's 100% correct, it has a balance, and works on something like steam.
