- @puzzlezaddict Maybe it is smaller on console. It's 10.1 MB. But its not a big problem, I just hope that packs don't get smaller and cost more. I "love" the game. I have all of the packs, except a few build kits. It may differ on platform to platform. I had though it was a glitch at first. The latest ones are 10.1 MB, and some kits are 10.1 MB. So I guess it might be a console thing. Smaller file sizes.
@angelboi7531 I'm sure pack sizes do differ between platforms, but it's hard to believe that all the content of a 264 MB stuff packs would fit into 10.1 MB on a console. The same goes for the most recent two kits, which are 60 and 115 MB in macOS. There's only so much the assets can be reduced, and scripted gameplay is even more difficult to compress.
It's even more difficult to believe that multiple packs and kits would all be exactly 10.1 MB. The statistical likelihood seems extremely low that they would be of equal size no matter what that size was. So I stand by my theory that this is simply a reporting error.
- @puzzlezaddict Oh, not all of my kits are 10.1 MB. Only "some" kits and bonus content is around 10.1 MB. Some of the kits and bonus content is larger. All I am saying is that I noticed Crystal Creations downloaded too quickly, and I thought it was a mistake or glitch. Then I went into manage game on my Xbox. I was very concerned by its file size. I figured it was way too small to be a stuff pack. The stuff pack is fully functional. Its just "tiny". So my Xbox is working. I shared it because I thought was strange. And I don't want future packs to shrink. As a consumer, you don't want next to nothing. So in short, I will be observing the file sizes plus content given. If another Xbox user were present, they could confirm what I saying. Regardless, I am content with the feedback I have gotten thus far. My questions are being answered. Thank you for your time and careful consideration.
- @puzzlezaddict I tried to take a screenshot of manage game on Xbox. The Xbox said that I have to be playing a game order to take a screenshot. So I'd just have to wait until other Xbox user gives a response. So its all good. Have a great day.
@angelboi7531I think this latest one looks deceptively small but once you've created everything with it it's actually the biggest amount of content we've got. It's just not there at the start.
On console the actual storage of the jewellery items themselves is a slight concern for me as the items worn by the Sim remain as an inventory item while worn. Storing a lot in Sims inventories across multiple households can be a cause of lagging and crashing. So I'm going to keep an eye on that on my Xbox Series X. I haven't looked at the file sizes on my console but that's how I would explain the size of this pack. It's a pack where it's content is created by you and will require more storage as you go along.🎮- atreya332 years agoLegend
I am downloading crystal creations at this very moment and it's 269 MB. That's on a windows PC.
@angelboi7531You can just take a photo with a phone or tablet then attach it to your post. That's how I do it with images from my Xbox.
Edit: I took an image of the Crystal Creations file size and it's 10.1mb. But as I mentioned earlier, in reality the size is relative to how many items you end up creating with it in your game.
- @simsplayer818 Thank you for laying that to rest for me. I knew that I wasn't making it up. I just don't want essential packs to get smaller. I am a big fan of the Sims period. The Sims 1 through 4. I'll be playing The Sims 5 too, I just hope it will be on console. But honestly, to tell you the truth. I feel that The Sims 4's life is being stretched out. I'm ready for The Sims 5 on my Xbox Series S. Or at least like some existing games, a Xbox Series S version of The Sims 4. Like Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S or PS4 and PS5 Versions of the same game. They should make on upgrade.
- @atreya33 Cool. The Sims 4 is a great game but what's with the new shopping cart feature? I already own all of it, what's next ads in game? lol. Still an awesome game!

Still an awesome game!Luckily I was spared from the cart, for now. I bought the pack through the EA app. The info of the file size was shown in the EA app while installing. I used that time to download updates for my mods.
@angelboi7531rest assured nobody would suggest you were making it up. It is a very surprising file size indeed. I downloaded it twice to be absolutely certain because I wondered if there was an issue somewhere. It's next to courtyard oasis which looks huge by comparison and it's the same size as some kits. I looked at it and thought "that can't be right". But a second download confirmed it. I'm also baffled when compared with the size of the PC version.
But, with that said file size is not our friend on console. The smaller the better to prevent stability issues according to Microsoft support. They told me that the size of packs on the Sims can be a trigger for crashes. So if we can have this great pack in a smaller file size that's great. With over 1000 items included it's enormous in practice. So still great value for me. I've been creating jewellery for days and barely scratched the surface of what we can create. I'm going to need a second jewellery store to sell it all!
With Sims 5 I think we might have a wait on console but hopefully not too long although I'm not ready to wrap up Sims 4 yet I do have a slight concern about how much more we can fit into the console version in terms of processing power. The console can only handle so much.
The Sims 5 board is here if you haven't yet got involved:
