Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

• Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
• Tray Folder
• Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
• Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
• Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
• ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
• Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

I also have this problem. It used to happen occasionally but only on the fridge when opening the ‘cook’ menu, now it’s happened on the phone menu when trying to invite over a group of people and the only option is to force quit 

This happened to me too. On Mac, I hit the sims app icon in the area where are your apps are staged and I hit quit. You then go over to the sims again after going over 2 buttons from the esc button and tap on the sims. Then it should say,” Save and Exit.” 

I saw the status changed to “needs saves” even though it was in the laundry list already, so I assume the devs couldn’t reproduce it.

Unfortunately it is hard to reproduce but it happens often in my save. No repro steps evident, other than using lots of menus very fast in succession. But I also had it happening when I used just a few and slowly ☹️ I usually see it while using the dresser menus of MCCC since I often go with it through different outfits, but I also tested without mods and had it happening randomly.

I just noticed that the other bugs in the laundry list got changed to "Fixed" while this one is not, and it was also not mentioned in the patch notes anymore, so I assumed the devs weren't able to reproduce it. Do you know if it got worked on after all?

I haven't updated my game yet to the patch of today, I typically wait for a week until most mods got an update. And this bug is also hard to test, given it happens in random moments, but I will give feedback here once I updated and it happens again 👍 

@karoschmitz since it wasn't in the patch notes (probably cause it's mostly performance)  I need confirmation from either Maxis or folks that it's fixed indeed before changing anything.

Laundry List is no guarantee that something gets fixed the next patch.

I def still have lags on the fridge.

@crinrictI still do have the fridge freezing lag either, hehe, but I'm glad EA is trying to fix it; I think the game has so much content with all the DLCs, I couldn't even play in all neighbouhoods yet because there are so many things to do! :D But I believe the bugs also increase exponentially because of so much content that is added each expansion and because of so many lines of code that might be added. 🙂

It is unfixable glitch for years. Even if I have a few CC installed or don't have CC at all. It will happen randomly sometime. Especially when I try to open many menu one by one. 

but I noticed something. It is always likely to be happening when the games is loading thumbnails or experiencing lag and when I open the change outfit menu, MC command menu, or menu that will popup from the phone. It likely to happen at this point. So I have to Alt + F4 and save and quit frequently since a couple years ago.

So dear EA or whom it may concern, If you won't be able to fix this sooner or later. Please add "save and quit to main menu" as additional in Alt + F4 menu. Make the game go to main menu so we can load save and play it all again without quiting the game and have to wait for initial game loading screen(because I have tons of CC that make my initial game loading time longer than usual simmers)
