Re: [ARCHIVED] Sim Gets Fear of the Dark After Being Cured (Patch 1.97.42)

I'm glad this one's still open. Another thread about this said it was fixed. It clearly was not. Been playing the Tinker family today and the daughter has had the Fear of the Dark Moodlet the whole time. Big problem is, I didn't even have Wants & Fears active in the first place. The whole W&F system is broken from the top down. I still get random Wants pop up now and then, even with it off, like a Sim wanting to woohoo with their significant other. Also, this is on PS4 so using a mod to fix it isn't a viable option. The Moodlet has a countdown timer, but it keeps renewing itself, even when she's in school. Currently in my game, it's 3pm and sunny. She just got home from school and has 3 hours on the Moodlet. She's coming very close to being unplayable and about to be abandoned to the unplayed households bin. I had plans for her future, but at this rate, she doesn't have a future.

@iamsweetmystery I moved your post over to the post for the fear cured/not present. The other thread was about the fear being there in daylight (with the fear present so it was just the time it occurred that was off)

See solution post for a workaround. You will need cheats but they shouldn't disable your achievements as you don't need testingcheats for them.

You will also need to turn fears on :D

@iamsweetmystery You don't have the fear present cause you have them turned off, right ?

It could be the same cause for both issues really, just wanted to distinguish between the fear itself being present or not :D

@crinrict - So, I did find a bit of a workaround that, at the very least seems to have made the Moodlet go away (for now) based on how you helped me handle the problem a few months ago with the W&F not turning off properly. I activated Wants & Fears, saved my game, restarted, deactivated Wants & Fears, saved again, restarted again. The Moodlet stopped cycling and timed out around 7:30am and hasn't come back yet. How long that will last remains to be seen. Like putting a bandage on a broken leg, really. Doesn't get to the root of the problem, but it makes things a bit better for now.

Edit: Disregard that. The Moodlet just reappeared at 3:13 in the afternoon, just after she got off school. This is just plain broken.

@crinrict - It's just gotten worse and I don't I don't know where to post about this, but the same girl is now disregarding the autonomy setting as well. I have autonomy disabled for the active Sim. Always have had. Now she's cueing up autonomous actions like watching TV and using the monkey bars. Is there an existing thread for this? if so, please link. Or do I need to start a new one?
