Re: which folder keep the saved game and family?
Hello there,
This is how you could "SAVE YOU GAME!"
The important thing for you is to save you previous game and all the stuff you already put in you Mods and Tray folder. For this you should go to your Documents folder > Electonic Arts > Sims 4, which for Windows is position here: C:\Users\*Your User Name"\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
The folders and files you will need after reinstalling your game are these:
- Custom Music (only if you already put some music of your own here)
- Mods
- Saves
- Tray
- Options.ini (This is not a folder. It is a file, which is named Options)
So you have to copy those folders and the Option.ini file to another place like your desktop or some other drive, whatever is working for you there. After you copy them you need to go that place and open the Saves folder. Inside that folder there is another one named "scratch". You do not need that subfolder.
Now you can uninstall the game, delete the Sims 4 folder in you Documents --> Electronic Arts if your uninstalling doesn't do it for you and install the new and original copy of your game. After that. Start the game. When you go to the open screen of the game and the option to start your new game, just exit the game. Copy the previous saved files to the same folder they were before (C:\Users\*Your User Name"\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4). The next time you start the game, you will be able to play from the point you were before the uninstalling.
If you have any questions, I'll be here later, so you could ask.
Happy Simming and Marry Christmas... and good choice you did by buying the original game. 🙂
