Does anyone know how to fix this???

So my game is like broken and won't open. I've tried to open it thru Steam and the EA app, but the same things happen. It starts to load, shows the Sims 4 title screen and starts loading the screen with tips/tricks. After that it just completely stops and closes itself. I've tried repairing the app, restarting my PC, deleting mods  that i could remember we broken. Nothing is working and i haven't found any solutions online, can anyone please help 🥲

Once you've sorted through your mods and cc, you can move over the contents of the saves and Tray (saved households and builds) folders, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those.  The other files and folders are extraneous and will be regenerated as necessary.

Hi Mate, I'm leaving this here as a me too, my game is also crashing on start-up - consistently it gets to the Sims 4 title screen at the start and then crashes, closing the game. I have removed all Mods, Saves, and Tray files, reinstalled the game and DLC, removed then reinstalled the EA App, deleted ThumbCache, updated drivers in Device Management, repaired the game, recovered the EA App, ended tasks in Task Manager, and run as administrator. None of these have solved the issue and I'm at a loss of what to do next.

I'm in the same boat unfortunately, but I hope they can find a solution for us soon 👍

  • jimin-irene LaurenKCrane  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Hi! So I tried moving the folders like you said and it got my game to open and start up. What do you do next?
