Re: Mouse Hole Stopped Working After Placing Trap!

I only placed a trap once and that is what glitched it.  Even for a previous save it was glitched.  But you cannot place a trap unless you can interact with the mouse hole.  I am not getting the ability to interact with the mouse hole.....it is as if it isn't there at all. 

p.s. the old mouse hole was deleted and was further over to the left than shown in the screenshot.  The mouse hole shown is the new replacement.

You should only get the option to place a trap if there is an active mouse. The trap will kill the mouse and the mouse hole will then go dormant and have no options until a new mouse spawns. It’s random when that will happen. Could be days or weeks with nothing.

The mouse is a negative event which gives sims a tense moodlet, which is why it’s not something that happens all the time.

It sounds like this is not a bug at all, just you’re expecting the hole to work differently than it’s supposed to.

when the trap was placed..the game lagged for a moment and it was as if the trap vanished into the wall.  The point I was trying to make is...that I opened an earlier saved game after placing that trap (a save where the mouse was running in and out), but the mouse was no longer running in and out.  Why would the placing of the trap affect a previously saved game?  In addition...when exiting the game that I placed the trap in, I did not save that game, but rather, opened an earlier saved game.  The mouse just stopped working.  I am going to wait...as the mouse may appear at a later time like the previous poster stated.  It may not be a bug...but it is weird that the placing of the trap affected all previously saved games.
