Mouse Sensitivity Problems ?

Hi! I just updated to the July 22nd update after being away for a month. The first thing I noticed was odd was that the cursor looked like a regular one, and not the Sims specific cursor, if that's clear. I'm not sure if this is a feature in the new update or not. It also had an hourglass symbol next to it, which apparently means "working in background" despite the fact nothing else was open or on at that time, and it only appeared in the Sims. The only thing that really seemed different was the mouse sensitivity in CAS. It was either too slow or too quick and trying to rotate a character would just make them rapidly spin.  When trying to adjust features, they dramatically changed by even the slightest of movements from me. It is really hard to work with and I can't tell if this is all just new stuff. I even changed my mouse sensitivity in my computer settings but it was still the same. With or without mods, script mods, anything, it still does this.

Please tell me if this is new or something wrong on my part! Thanks

Move your mods folder to the desktop
Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game - important!
    Fix the game in Origin.
    Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder and check if a game is working now without mods and CC.
Check if there are new updated versions of the mods and CC you are using.
Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods one by one every time checking if the game is OK. Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method. ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)

if it will not work try to do a factory reset of your game folder as described in this post:

    I don't work for EA

@dearsaseum Do you happen to have Reshade installed and running Windows version 1903? Because something with Windows update 1903 and reshade make the mouse sensitivity go out of control.
  • @xoChelleJoxo Yeah, you got it right! If someone has Windows 10 1903 and ReShade (even up to v.4.5.2, as I tested) then the mouse sensitivity is out of control and super sensitive in CAS or Camera Mode. I gave you a +1 for XP. Good answer!
