Getting pretty frustated here

I could use some help. I've been experiencing some problems ever since the update in November. I have done the update fix and the latest update with the makeup and skin tones.
I can't save any game because the menu freezes. 
I can technically pause a game but the game itself isn't pausing (My sims still move around, snow still falls, etc)
Eventually, everything freezes, and I have to physically turn my computer off to exit because I can't do so through the menu or with Task Manager. 
I have repaired my game numerous times. I have updated my graphics drivers. I don't have any mods or CC. I'm not sure what else I can do beyond uninstalling everything and reinstalling again, but that doesn't guarantee it will fix anything. I just really want to play my game.
