@Tarryn_Rich  First of all, you can hit ctrl-alt-delete and choose to sign out, which should boot you back to the Windows login screen while closing all running apps.  This is better for your computer than forcing a shutdown.

For the problem itself, does this happen if you play while your computer is completely offline?  This isn't a solution, just a useful test.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode before launching Sims 4.  The Gallery won't be available, but the game should otherwise run as normal.

Your dxdiag doesn't show any particular reason for the problem, but that's not uncommon: freezes or hangs often don't leave an error message.  It just means we need to look elsewhere.
