Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 DLC shows as installed, won't load in-game

I recently purchased and downloaded 11 DLCs and it seems they have all downloaded and installed successfully but they are not showing in game. I searched all through the forums and found one person had this issue and EA helped them to discover they had two accounts. Is it possible I have two accounts and can they be easily merged so all purchased content can be seen? It also seems like the add-ons I purchased about a month ago only show on my Steam account but not my EA account. Is there any way to combine everything into 1 single app? I don't have a preference between Steam or EA but one of the two please! Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much for reaching out! First, a few parameters to my particular situation: I do not and never had the CAS Demo, I bought some DLCs from Steam and some from the EA APP (detailed below), I have moved all game folders to the root Sims 4 folder within Program Files>EA Games>The Sims 4. I have also followed the directions to clear cache and repair game. I have additionally uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. I feel I have done it all and I still do not see the packs I purchased on Steam..I only can see what I purchased from the EA App. When I go to manage add-ons, only the packs I purchased from EA App are there. They say they are downloaded and they seem to all function properly within the game. However, the packs that are not working are also not in the manage add-ons, which I purchased on Steam.

Really appreciate your help! I have also attached some screenshots of where all my folders are.

I see I have an additional Sims 4 folder within the Sims 4 root folder...is that the issue? I'm just afraid to delete anything unless that is what I need to do to fix it?

@taytastic23  You can only use your Steam-owned packs in a Steam install.  The reverse is not true: your EA-owned packs will install into the Steam base game.  So the fix here is to uninstall the EA App version, install Sims 4 through Steam, then sign into the EA App and download the packs (but not the base game) you own there.

Anything in Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\The Sims 4, with that second Sims 4 folder, isn't going to be read by the game, but that's a separate issue that becomes irrelevant once you switch to a Steam install.

Makes sense! Okay, I've completed everything but now the opposite is true. I used to only be able to play the EA App packs but now when I launch the game in Steam, I can only play the packs purchased from Steam (see attachment). What am I missing? Maybe I have the download going into the wrong folder? I saved it in Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>The Sims 4

    Is that right?

I also went into the delta folder and copied all the packs over to the root Sims 4 folder.

@taytastic23  The Delta folder holds data for patches, not the full packs.  So please delete everything you moved over from Delta.  If you're not sure what that was, delete all the pack folders, repair the game (right-click Sims 4, select Properties > Local files > Verify integrity of the game files), and redownload your packs from Steam.

Next, clear the EA App's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

Restart your computer, open the EA App, find Sims 4, click Manage > Manage Add-ons, and download the packs you own there.  If you have two copies of Sims 4 showing and you can't download the packs from one option, try the other.

The install location Steam used is fine.

@memelordkuroyuri  What issue are you having?  Please describe it in more detail, including names of any packs you're missing.

@Lunababy688 and @kejsarinnan  Please see the first post on page one.  If that doesn't help, please let me know where you've bought your packs—EA App, Steam, Epic, some combination—and which launcher you used to install the base game.  Please also run the search described in that first post.

Thank you so much @puzzlezaddict !

What I did was that I did find the EP's in the Origin -> CAS Demo-folder and moved them to the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 - folder. EA Games, as soon as I clear the cache, still thinks they aren't downloaded but in game they work just great.

I did unistall CAS Demo and reinstalled the games but then it just installed everything in the Sims 4-folder that was there (I had Sims 4 from Origin originally). So I am going to try to eventually move that folder and see if that forces EA Games to put the expansion packs in the right place, but right now I am just happy that it works!

Once again; thank you so much!
