- yeah, i hope its a thing, i like playing on whatever console i'm on last. If they dont add cross progression when crossplay is a thing, they really should not expect a dime out of me.

While it's possible that cross-play will appear in Apex Legends, unfortunately Respawn's Lead Producer Drew McCoy already confirmed that it would be impossible to implement cross-progression and cross-purchase into the game as well due to the way systems were set up early on.

@EA_Ataashi if crossplay is introduced without progression then EA and Respawn will have put Apex at a serious disadvantage, let me explain why.
I have 3 sons on different platforms as well as their mates on mixed platforms. Other games come out and there is a buzz at the time but guess what, they all default back to Fortnite within 6 weeks or so. Why is this? Simple their default position is always play with their mates on the game that lets them do it.
So why cross progression? Simple when they go to their mates, Nans, Uncles, cousins house they simply plug in the Switch to a TV and away they go again on Fortnite with all the goodies they had on whichever platform they were on. Also one recently switched to Xbox in the knowledge he would keep all his Fortnite inventory. Lastly for a F2P game why not have cross progression, it makes total sense and doesn’t make the consumer/parent feel they are being totally mugged off.
Epic set the bar for all to follow and anything less will just fall short. I guarantee once the new Fortnite season pass comes out people will go back to it, same way it happened with Black Ops. Fortnite will be king of the hill until other games makers compete on an equal footing and realise C&P is the only way to go now.
is there a way for us to bring this up to the right people?? If theres no cross progression, theres no real reason for me to continue playing. This game is fun, but... cross progression needs to be a thing, especially if its going to compare with games that allow cross progression.
I.e ; fortnite, smite, paladins, realm royale, rocket league etc
while only fortnite is in the same genre, i feel like playing those games is worth more of my time, because my money has been already spent there, why not continue spending money where i can access my content on any device.I completely agree. There should definitely be cross-progression and it limits how much I want to play the game even though I think it's a great game. It's hard because I play mostly on my xbox but I have some friends on PC I would like to play with but I dont really want to due to my PC being a low levels account. This is for sure going to be a problem that respawn needs to address.
I agree with this, while I am mostly an xbox player my friends started on PC. Because one of their xbox's is starting to die they stayed on PC and now I am being forced to move to PC to play with my friends and in turn loosing all my progression and cosmetics. Because of this I feel like this game is not worth my time to play and even spend a penny on.
Game needs to be more optimised for older consoles, runs like *
- I don't think you guys understand what "impossible" means here. While I agree it would be nice, cross progression will not happen with Apex Legends. There are no right people to talk to, and this isn't something they can just reconsider if enough people say they won't play without cross progression.
Well, as Apex Legends main competitor is Fortnite and that has support for all platforms, crossplatform play and crossplatform progression i would think that EA would incorporate these feautres some time in the future of the game but at these stages its very unlikely this will become readily available this early on.
Ok, no Cross Progression is frankly not acceptable nowadays.. I play on PC but i have Xbox and PS4 as well, and I would like to just play it anywhere and keep my progression.
I don´t even care about cross platform, but progression in 1 account just makes sense..
Not getting any money from me...
GG
How do you connect it to your microsoft account? I can't find any way to through the game on xbox or through the settings in ea origins on my pc.
hey wondering if you could help. it doesn't give me an option to connect my ea account in apex it just logged me in when I first downloaded it and never asked for any sign in. now while trying to find out a way to get the twitch prime pack I'm having trouble connecting the account on my ps4 to that of my twitch and apex
Same thing happened to me, connected my ea account but loot isn’t there?
Rocket league doesn't have cross progression
Then I suggest he start over. This is basic now, Fortnite isn't the only cross platform game either. I'm in no way happy about this impossible feat. especially when so many games are following suit. It won't be long before all games are cross-platform, why would you purposely say you're not going to try?
Cross progressions means they would lose out in the money it takes to play different accounts on different platforms. If you think about it from a business standpoint cross progression is bad for business. That’s why you will never see it in a game from EA. Just being realistic.
I would like to submit a counter to this post. I just think that if they made cross progression I would be more willing to keep paying for a season pass. If you create more opportunities for me to play, you are creating more opportunities for me to give you money. I am currently playing on PC with a season one pass. Basically, all of my PC friends have moved on from APEX but I have tons of Xbox friends who have continued to play. I would love to keep playing Apex but as of now, I don't want to have to buy the battle pass on PC but I don't want to start all over on Xbox.
It goes hand in hand with the price of epic skins. From a business standpoint can you price skins at $18 and make more money then if you price skins at $5. I personally would be more willing to spend $5 on a few great skins than $18 on one. Take League of Legends as an example. I wouldn't put down money for a Braum skin that was $10 but as soon as it went on sale for $5 I couldn't pass it up. I put $20 into my League account and know that I have put more money in since. In the long run, Riot has made more money off me (and I'm sure many other people) from selling us a lot of cheap skins vs. a few very expensive skins.
How this isn't possible is mind boggling. Epic didn't release their game to cross play in the beginning yet pulled this feat off flawlessly. Why does something so important to fans of Apex seem to not be a priority at all for EA or Respawn? It is sickening to see them releasing more and more "cash grab" content while ignoring a serious concern for a lot of us fans. EA literally killed this game by releasing a battle pass before cross play.
We're no priority, we're (let me quote) "FREELOADERS"! How fool I was happily planning to spend 120 eur on the next collection event (Fight or Fright) but they kept the lootboxes at 7eur instead of droping to 4-5 as community asked. There will be no cross platform progression, there will only be greed!
- @xNitroHazardx same... please ea do your job
- @ThyLordAngel I hope so
It would make perfect sense to me to incorporate cross-platform progression especially where the ability to link XBL & PSN accounts to your Origin & EA accounts is already there. I have my gamertag linked on EA’s website so why not sync my progress between platforms? It sounds like a perfectly reasonable and easy to implement update (in contrast to the benefit it would give players).
Furthermore, handfuls of people would play Apex Legends over other games like Fortnite if their purchases were synced between platforms. I’m not suggesting the game be cross-platform playable (XBL vs PSN vs PC), though that would be nice too. I’m simply suggesting that game progress and purchases be synced between platforms so that those who decide to switch between consoles can carry on where they leave off without having to run multiple accounts and unlock things they’ve already worked for.
If Minecraft & Fortnite can do it, so can Apex Legends. Neither Minecraft or Fortnite started as cross-platformers, but look at the huge impact it made when they decided to incorporate the concept, and they did so rather easily it would seem.
Developers, please prioritize this! The payoff will be huge!
If fortnite did it how is it impossible? You really don't know what the word impossible means do you
