Re: Season 4 Ranked 1-Tier Difference Party Play & Unranked SBMM

@o-Talzy-o Well their devs have said SBMM may need some tweaking and we'll probably see some adjustments to it as they get more data from it. That data will allow them to see where changes need to be made.

Every game that has implemented SBMM has seen huge improvements with player retention with regards to the bottom 80-90% of the player population. Now it does make the game more difficult for about 10% of the player population, but it allows the other 90% to find venues/lobbies that are fun for them.

I agree it can be difficult playing with lower skill friends. I have a hard time playing with my nephew because he just can't carry his weight in the lobbies I'm in. How ever, overall I have a better gaming experience with SBMM, than I did without SBMM. Sure without SBMM it would probably be some what easier for me to carry him. But.. it would also be harder, we would also be in matches with more players who are even better than I am, that I stand no chance at squad wiping on my own.

I play with a lot of randoms and SBMM has made it so that I get paired with people who typically can carry their weight against the people we are matched against.

The argument that ranked offered an area for different skill levels is just not the entire picture. Ranked is where the higher skill players go to get competitive. Granted the lower rank lobbies are not difficult, they are still harder than the low skill non-ranked lobbies. Many of the low-medium skilled players won't try ranked because they don't think they are ready for it.
