Short TTK would not work for Apex at all. The main 'selling' point of Apex is the  fluid 3D movement. Long TTK allows for combat movement to shine, up to the point that the winner of the duel is generally the one who has better moves.

Also, if you need a reload for 1 kill, then of course the "ttk" feels very long, because reload times are long compared to ttk. Get some better aim or stay away from SMG's.

    It's all irrelevant if connections remain as complete junk for me as they have been over the past few months.

    The game is so inconsistent it's a joke. "Skill" on a junk server means very little
