    @EryxApexexactly.

    It's completely pointless to down players from long range in this game because they will get ressed and everyone has inventory full of shields and medkits.

    @Anonymous Sniping to keep a team pinned down while your own team flanks them, is a viable tactic, especially in WE map. Did it yesterday, with a Wingman, nontheless, paired with Peacekeeper for close quarters.
  • It's not pointless. You're wasting their resources. The question is  though: do you benefit at all from it (how likely are you to need to fight that team) and is it worth the risk of revealing your position. Often the answer is - it's not worth it.

    Snipers should be mostly used for gatekeeping (when you have superior position and your enemy has to come to you if they want to live - they will be damaged from your snipers when they reach you), 3rd partying (griefing duty), kill stealing,...

    Just doing damage for the sake of doing damage is, of course, pointless (well unless your goal IS burning through their cells). A lot of ppl do that though.

    Still, full CQC loadout is generally more efficient.

    P.S. Charged rifle is the ultimate damage-farming weapon (just lazer em at 400+ meters - completely pointless gamewise, but you'll get those numbers safely) and hence one of the worst snipers (longbow and G7 have much higher dps, kraber has 1-shot kill potential) - yeah it took me a while to realise that, but that's simply the truth.

    So anyway: if you're shooting a sniper, make sure you have a clear answer of WHY you're doing it.

    Disagree on the charge rifle being the worst. The ability to do a bunch of damage without having to adjust at all is powerful and it has the potential to just do like 80 damage in one burst.

  • Sniping is all about making the enemy squad suffer. The more you hit them the more they heal, and subsequently the more they panic as they watch all their heals dwindle rapidly.

    Hell even if you're not hitting shots consistently you can pin a squad in place increasing the odds they'll get third partied.

    Sniping is tactical AF when you do it right.

    If you do want to rack up the kills though you need to be popping those headshots, and catching your enemies on the mid points between each bit of cover. The long theyre crawling the easier it is to finish them.

    On a side note dont bother finishing a sniper knock in open ground....wait for one of their team mates to attempt the revive and get yourself a 2fer. 😛
