Re: Kill vs Assist

@SWgeebz You get the same amount of points. So it does not matter in ranked. The only thing it impacts is your KD, which honestly is not that big of a deal IMO.

I get the frustration with it especially when you did not need help. But often times teammates stealing kills saves me. I'm typically popping a battery or something, teammate jumps in and finishes off the person I did 170 damage to or something. I personally don't mind it in that situation. I also don't mind it when they steal kills in general. I would rather then be helping me instead of me having to try and 1vs3 an enemy squad.

Just because something is the "norm" doesn't mean it makes sense. 500~ years ago people thought the planet was flat and witches were real. I don't care about the points/KD ratio I care about what makes sense. If you do 75% of damage to a target and your teammate does the other 25% he assisted you not the other way around. I don't care if it has been the standard in FPS/BR for years it doesn't mean it makes sense.

@SWgeebz Who ever lands the last shot gets the kill. It makes perfect sense. If you do a 180 damage to someone but they knock you. Your squad mate finishes them off. The squad mate should get the kill because in that situation you did not and were not able to kill the person. The same is true if you've done 180 damage to the person and you have to go hide and heal..

If there's a group of soldiers in Kabul being attacked by a sniper, they're not gonna argue about someone taking their kill, they're just gonna be glad one of them downed him

  • @SWgeebz Shooting someone in the hand 40 times is just as devastating as three times in the face, but your target still shrugs off both incidents because he has a magic injector and an electric pod... Makes perfect sense...

@DarthValtrex Idk. I completely get it but I care about my stats and K/D. It's ridiculously frustrating to be actively trying to improve your stats, you full clip someone and your teammate runs over and 1 shots them. I hate it when I've got the most damage but least kills especially when it's not a win. If I'm not getting more than a 1 k/DR a match then I don't wanna know 🤣

@SWgeebz It does make sense. You didnt fire the bullet that killed them. The game doesnt know what is going to happen. It doesnt know if you are going to reload and shoot the final bullet or if the guy is going to run away and heal.

This argument is silly every time. I guarantee you that for every kill a person has stolen they steal them from others.
  • @hayhor I suppose its one of those where it kinda depends on the team. It's always worse with randoms. And if a teammate didn't help but literally come in and one shot him during the whole firefight then it's a bit of a joke. Idk.
