@KelRieverLOL that's not how publicly traded companies work. What EA does with their profits depends on the CEO and executives. Some of it does back into the game to do things such as build the design studio that EA recently opened which will be dedicated to Apex. Granted its opening has probably been impacted by COVID.
Some of it goes towards developing new titles completely unrelated to Apex. Some of it pays the EA employees and Respawn employees who create the game. A very small percentage turns into Net profits, what does turn into net profits is typically paid out via Dividends. None of those profits go directly into the CEO pocket. I guess in some ways it does indirectly, if the company and stock is performing well, the CEO will likely get a bonus. How those bonuses are paid and approved really depend on the companies performance the terms of the CEO contract with the company. But it's not like you think..
CEO main goal is to see their business grow and remain profitable. How they go about that really depends on the person. I'd say EA is doing quite well considering the player numbers, their stock values and so on. If you think having the best performing games is not part of their goal, your vastly mistaken. If I was CEO it would be my top priority. I’m just saying the money doesn’t go to developers or the game itself. Activision’s is the same way. Payment in the game industry has been unfair for some time which is why unions are being considered for it.
Bit payment goes to the execs like it or not, that’s widely known .
