Re: Wraith Hitbox S8

@hayhor that's interesting. I wonder if he meant a 15% increase in total or a 15% increase all round ie as in the frame, which would be more, maby up to 30%. No idea what that would be in volume terms though.

@hayhor I had an idea for us to make a direct comparison.

Using the hitbox picture supplied by respawn that's above.

I cropped the picture to the below, using the new hitbox green line as the vertical crop point, so both wraith images are the same width:

Then cropped again from that image to show the head and upper body of both for direct visual comparison:

If you are able to zoom in on these 4 headshots like I can on my phone, the difference becomes startling. Simple measurements indicate at least a 15% increase in both width and depth and also there is an increase in some heights and includes height overlaps.

If so then this is more than a 15% increase in the new hitbox.

    Say a hitbox cube is 10cmx10cmx10cm= 1000cm3

Increase depth and width by 15% and for the sake of argument no change to height.

    Cube is now 11.5cmx11.5cmx10cm= 1322cm3

The percentage increase in the volume is:

    (322/1000)x100=32. 2%

We need a fact checker 😃

@OldTreeCreeper Your logic is off here. Hitboxes do not work the way you are saying. If I see a wraith from the side, her width from the front doesnt mean anything to me. If I see her from the front her side increase means nothing. So it is still whatever view you have of her, not the total of some random measurements you added.

@hayhor I wanna say they based it off pathfinder. When they increased his hit box they found they had up to 15% wiggle room of changes. I do believe they may of said they have up to 15% of wiggle room on wraith or may been 20.
  • @hayhor it is the difference between the red lines which indicate the old hitbox cuboid and the green lines which indicate the new hitbox cuboid. The animation size hasn't changed. The animation view has nothing to do with the hitbox.

The measurements of the red and green lines are not random, take her chest hitbox cuboid as an example, and measure it when zoomed in, heith and width.

@OldTreeCreeper It def is not 32% increase. Wraith did not even have half that to work with. She only had up to 15-20% wiggle room of changes. This change is very minimal and effects us wraiths none. Only ones who cry are streamers who get fried and blame the hitbox increase for their poor surroundings knowing skills. They assume im a pred im big streamer no one can stop me. Then they get stopped in their tracks and out comes the hate.

@E9ine_AC I think what you are referring to is this podcast

    https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/daniel-klein-senior-game-designer-interview-talking/id1500861437?i=1000500192502

If you listen to it, he says they had 20% wriggle room "within" the animation for pathfinder. Within would be the core word here. Wraith's new hitbox goes "without" well outside of her animation. Pathfinders new hitbox can clearly be seen on the picture of the hitbox provided by respawn.
