Crypto's Abilities Question

The drone marks the players, it needs to be out to do so.

He probably positioned his drone fast and went out of view mode of the drone, the drone stays out and marks in its view even if youre not actively flying the drone.

Often for instance its smart to pop out the drone just to watch behind you when youre running and it will cap people coming up behind you while youre running and so on.

Get a buddy into the training grounds and switch on friendly fire and play with the drone to see how everything works, the more efficient you can be with the drone without actively navigating it the better experience you will have with crypto 😉

@Eques3nCrypto will have a soft rework/huge buff in S12 so I’ll probably wait on that before actually practicing with him.

To answer you question, you can leave your on the air like a CCTV camera and it will continually scan enemies at a 125m range.

-You can fly or leave your drone 200 meters away from crypto.
- You can ping the legend banners to see if there are enemy squads nearby 200 meters away from Crypto (not he drone)
- the drone can use the survey beacon instantly with no animations like other legends
- the drone can remotely grab teammate banners from their deathboxes
- the drone can resurrect teammates using the respawn beacon instantly for some of that clutch revives.

He’s very strong in the hands of a good Crypto player hence he’s gaining popularity in the ALGS recently. You will not see cryptos in pubs or lower tier ranks because he’s not fun to use. You’re late to the fight most the time since you have to use your nintendo switch. Good Crypto players actually spend little time on the drone. Let’s see what the buff/rework would do.

@Eques3n Yup like this one where it shows the champion or kill leader banner. In this screenshot, there are two squads nearby (200m) from your body and not from the drone.

Some other advanced or missed tips on the crypto drone

- Without even scanning, you can place the drone on top of the house/building where the enemies are so that the drone sound will drown out a lot of your footsteps when attacking that squad.

- You can activate the EMP even when you’re not in drone mode

- Pathfinder can grapple on to the drone

- If you’re Fuse you can ult the drone to have a huge ring of fire covering a whole building and basically having wallhacks like this video

- Back in season 7 you can do this but you’ll get a suspension

One thing I would add when  playing crypto is to really utilise momentum from movement when using your drone.

E.g let's say I'm coming up to a downhill slope with some cover at the bottom, and there's a fight another 70m ahead. I'll sprint slide down the hill aiming for said cover, during this slide I'll activate my drone.

This allows my character to move into cover whilst I position my drone for either recon or offensive purposes.

The quicker you can gather information as crypto the more of a help you are to your team, extended drone use should be avoided unless the situation calls for it.

Edit: hit survey beacons with the drone when you can too, there's no wind up time on the survey beacons for his drone.....and frankly advanced ring knowledge is huge gains. 😛

@hayhorCrypto should have a turret that shoots anyone nearby well using the drone. That way you are not flying blind and the second the turret goes off it takes you out of drone view. It wouldn't even have to do much damage or maybe some super sound detection well using drone (foot steps fortenite)
