Re: Rat teammates are horrid now

I’m actually enjoying my best KD I’ve had on probably 7 seasons at least (just to show I’m not being a rat myself and I leveled up from bronze 4 to Diamond 1 in under 2 weeks), so I’m not sure how much I can attribute to the supposed new matchmaking system.

That being said, the rat teammates are out of control.

So, um, just to be sure, this is you talking about how you mute yourself every match and don't communicate with your team at all right?

I'd also point out that, as discussed in that thread and so famously said by Wraith, the point of a BR is, "All that matters is being the last one alive." aka WINNING.

If all you want to do is fight and kill, they have Deathmatch modes for you now.

@Kyldenar Well, watched my friend who streams... she had a teammate (a Valk btw), landing in a tree on drop. Didn't even pick up guns or anything. Just sitting in a tree, not moving until she had to. That is taking it a bit to the extreme, I feel. You also have to be very lucky if you wanna win as a solo, and an unarmed solo on top of that.
  • @KyldenarI mean, my last post and this one can both be true. I rarely ever had teammates camp the whole match until this season. I get doing it to gain points easily and simply get the win but you still gain more from at least trying in the match as long as you’re accurate and strategic.

Most of my wins in ranked have been from, as I said in my last post, muting randoms (not when I play with friends) I get matched up with (it’s easier to focus on my surroundings that way, also as previously explained) and it’s earned me at least a Diamond rank nearly every season I’ve played consistently in.

This is purely an observational post, I’m still overall content with my performance this season, and doing so from muting while solo-queuing, so I’m not going to backtrack anything I said, whatever your point is.

  • @Rixit7788Was this in response to my post? Because I’m saying I’m in favor of getting kills and playing to win.

I’m not sure if it would help to actually increase the entry costs to what they were pre-season 12ish (whenever they increased from the first several seasons) or just give more RP to kills and assists than what’s currently handed out.

I thought the entry costs from the past few seasons were overly aggressive compared to what it began as.

Nah was talking about that guy Kyldenar. Attitudes like that are toxic. If you want to be a rat go play metal gear solid on your ps2

  • @Kyldenar Except for the fact that you WILL NOT WIN if you don't even loot, which happens all the time with people dropping on trees and ratting to top 2 at best then giving up. Yeah, really nice strategy.

  • It is actually back to the first ranked season or season 2 of apex. People ratted all the time. Placement gave points. Season 2 of ranked changed that or season 3 of apex. Which was by far the best season of ranked. It was also the season of the hammer that got dropped on disconnect diamond players. Honestly the suckiest part of this season is the hidden matchmaking and no actual ranks. It is just pubs for me. 2 teammates who want to hot drop every game do some damage and die immediately.

I don’t see making diamond this season since I started in rookie. And for what little points you get unless you win it will be a season long grind of minus 35 points with no real reward for having a good game.

Just finished a 3 kill game in fifth place for 142 points both my teammates died on landing and I rotated and fought my butt off for those kills late in the game. So in essence I get 3 free entries which will get consumed on the next three games because my team will hot drop and I probably won’t survive it.

one thing is for sure with every change respawn makes, they don’t want solo players. Period. So if you solo this game just try and have fun on your own. I gave up on the requests for solo mode. If you play in a premade maybe it’s better. I gave up after season on season of my squads quitting apex altogether. Been solo since season 4 and this is the first season where I am not even going to try for diamond. I am going to okay ranked and stick on my teammates like white on rice. Not pinging an enemy or rotation if they die I will rat away.

I shall play it the way respawn wants it.

Somebody please get a dictionary for EVERYONE who misuses the word toxic to mean "whatever you say that doesn't agree with me."

@mastiffslinger You can get diamond easily if you just exploit the system and rat or run a 3 stack that can fight and dont fight until top 10 like the 80000+ masters already have. In less than 3 weeks that are 4x the masters as previous seasons. Anyone can get there this season.
  • @hayhor , not sure about the easily part. Say you get too 5 starting in rookie with no kills. 125 points with an entrance cost of 35 for your next game and you don’t pull off the raf so a net of 90 points for 10 to 20 minutes. At least last season if you were playing with constant hot drop teammates and pulled 3 kills at any point in the game pre diamond you were almost always positive points.

While this system rewards placement above kills similar to season 1 of ranked. The hidden matchmaking is horrible on top of it. I just started playing tonight after taking a week off and every team wants to land on top of 3 or 4 other teams. Not to mention my teammates for some reason have sub 500 kills on base legends. Which makes me wonder if because of the drop and die games I am in is just perpetuating the issue.

And I don’t know about anyone else, but I get no enjoyment in finding the best rat hole on the game. I had a few of those teammates last week which is why I took a week off. I don’t do it for the glory of this seasons rewards, I would just like a sense of accomplishment and even this they took out of the game now.

It might get balanced at some point, but like all things apex, I doubt it.

  • @hayhor This is true, my best ranked splits I don’t usually hit Diamond 3 or 4 until the last week or two before the reset. I’m already at Diamond 3 and there’s, what, 10 weeks left in the split? Lol

Also wanna preface that I have done so without ratting either.

@mastiffslinger For me personally it’s been easier and I’m gonna sound like a broken record but I mentioned earlier in the thread that idk if it’s because my matchmaking got changed to easier lobbies (I’m an overall 0.91 K/DR) or if I’ve just been playing better lately than normal (I currently have a 1.2 K/DR so far this season).

Either way, I started off this ranked split at the rookie 4 after the provisional rounds and I’m now a Diamond 3 as we speak. I let my ego get to me sometimes but even I have to see that it could be due to some variables that haven’t happened before as to how I’ve done it this quickly, that are not simply skill-related on my end.

@mastiffslinger It is easy. You just don't fight for 10 to 15 minutes and you're positive. Fighting before top 10 is a complete waste of time. Is it time consuming and boring? Yes and why I'm not doing it. I'm dropping and fighting. It's actually been great for me. I can find fights the entire game and get an end game.
