Hey guys. I found a workaround to whoever finds this helpful.
Since Steam didn't want to fix my issue and closed my case 3 times, I re-downloaded Apex with EA app using the same EA ID. Luckily, I could use the same account and purchase everything from EA launcher.
It was a hassle, but I was able to purchase everything. Keep in mind that if you have residual money on Steam, you might be able to get it back to your bank account during the first 14 days if you request a refund.
From now on I will purchase everything through the EA app even though it is a hassle because it saved me from losing my money and I think it's worth it for heirlooms and limited time events.

Thanks for the additional posts. If you're still running into this, can you share any screenshots or video of the process or error you're seeing?
We're still looking into this and any additional details of that purchase process failing would be extremely useful in the investigation, thanks!
Having the same issue, and opening a steam support ticket accomplished nothing. steam just shows it as "failed" even though I have the funds in my steam wallet.

Just to clarify, did you have funds in your Steam Wallet prior to attempting the purchase in-game, or were those added during checkout to cover the purchase?
Are you still getting the prompt to authorize the purchase on Steam, or is this failing before that point?
I think they were added during the checkout? and yes I am still getting the prompt to authorize, and the steam overlay closes after that like normal. but it doesn't deduct funds neither does the purchase goes through, just shows as failed still.

Thanks again @Moshi1341, just one other thing to clarify, what is the Steam/EA username trying to make that purchase?
It doesn't look like there's a Steam account attached to this particular EA account. Same thing is happening to me at the moment, and i don't want to miss out on the event because i have already put money into it. Is there a way to fix this yet?
How long does it take to get the money back from steam?
My steam username is timothyjames25 but, no I don't I have an EA account connected to it.

Thanks for the extra details @Moshi1341. If you had ever launched Apex or another EA title on that Steam account, it would have to be linked to an EA account. It just doesn't appear to be the one you're posting with here.
Do you recall any other usernames that may have been used for either the Steam and/or EA account?
Just trying to track down the account where this took place so we can gather as much info as possible to continue checking into this, much appreciated.
Are you able to help me with the same thing? I have the exact same problem on the dot.

At this point we're still gathering information to continue investigating the issue; there are not presently other steps to work around the situation if you were trying to use funds already in your Steam Wallet.

I am still getting the authorize prompt as when i am about to complete the purchase, then the overlay disapear with no message of whats going on. I added funds both on checkout and after (manually on steam) to see if it made a difference which it did not.

Gotcha @ItsBlixxi, thanks for the additional info. We'll pass that along to help out with the investigation. If it’s still doesn’t work and offer will be end, how I can buy items that I needed?

Is everyone here using steam or are some using the EA App? Steam support claims (although many people with this issue are getting this reply) that "We found some unusual activity on your account and our system has temporarily prevented your account from continuing to purchase items in this game. Please try again at a later time."
Sounds like some super aggressive automated system that is incorrectly flagging people's accounts.

I have the same issue after buying 6,700 Apex coins. My funds have been added to my wallet, but after choosing the amount of coins, the Steam overlay just disappears when I authorize the transfer. Steam username FlameLiam.

I'm not really sure. I was just now able to purchase the coins I've been trying to get for the last 3 days but it might have just been luck. I say it might be luck because 3 days ago I was trying to get the 4350 bundle and it would fail every time. So out of curiosity, I tried the 2150 bundle and it actually succeeded. But then afterwards, trying to buy a second 2150 bundle (also tried the 1000 coin option) it would fail every time after 40+ attempts over the last 3 days, until today, when I was able to purchase it.
Even though steam is just responding to support tickets with a generic "you have unusual activity on your account" reply, I'd still recommend everyone having this issue open a support ticket. Maybe with some luck, they'll realize many users are running into this problem and they'll do something about it.Otherwise, it seems like perhaps it's a 2-3 day "suspension" until you can purchase coins again.

NettieObviously, a bit confused and annoyed that they temporarily prevented my account from buying packs, so I waited 6 hours before trying again look I'm going to cut to the chase.
If you have let's say 42$ and you want to get coins that cost close to 42$ or the exact amount it WILL FAIL EVERYTIME. Now if you buy a pack that's 22$ it will go through normally why? I have no idea. It's like Ea wants you to spend more money than you have too this method only works if you have more then 10$ on your steam acc TRY doing 5$ and watch it go through untill they fix this IG this is what yo will have to do.....
so how many about I have to drop inside steam to buy lol ?
