Re: What do people think about quads?

It's not good for the same issues as regular pubs. As soon as someone gets know they leave. So if 2 people get knocked you're facing a 2 on 4 & possibly more if a 3rd squad gets involved. Running around solo in Quads ain't it.

Plus an extra person can make it harder to get what you need especially if you have a loot goblin on the team. Had a Rev pick up the gold knock & I tried to tell them multiple times to give it to the Lifeline on our team. Surprise surprise they're 1 of the 1st ones down in a fight & LL was the last 1 alive.

I was like man too bad you didn't give LL that gold knock & quit to the lobby. I'd much rather have Solos back than this mess.

@Lord_Scorpion34I haven't tried yet but expected a the solo queue experience to be poor. I'm surprised this didn't replace trios with duos coming back tho. Duos must not be very popular if it's removed a whole season.

I played. Its true abt @Lord_Scorpion34 said.

Pathfinder down, Lifeline charge(not reviving pathy) and died plus quit/dc.

The other went solo. What am I suppose to do?

Die trying revive pathy. In the end 1v4 = dead.

We can't even handle trios and now quads?

    Think Pubg quads.

Well, I hated solos and I hate quads too, but at least I give Respawn points for trying new things. Maybe next it will be a PvE mode.
  • @hayhor I think they wanted to keep the core pubs around for people who end up not liking Quads. I think Duos does well. I've never had an issue queuing up for it. They probably don't have the server capacity or performance (which they should) to run all 3 modes plus the Mixtape & Ranked.

Core Trios will always be there unless they're forcing a Trios LTM on us.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Right, I just tried quads today and had the same issues. They need more loot bins and more loot drops in the buildings. Also, we always got 1 or 2 who would drop the match during the hot drop and wouldn't wait for us to revive them. They really need an abandon penalty on this mode since it needs everyone there in order to work.

The only good thing about quads is you can put the better players in the front and the two least good in the back and it makes the fights easier. I think if you had 4 friends all talking to each other you could come up with a powerful team, I've only played with Randoms though.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Yeah, it just adds complexity to what is already the most complex MMOFPS I've ever played. That makes the imbalance between most premades of cheaters & smurfs against randoms just orders of magnitude worse.

"They really need an abandon penalty on this mode since it needs everyone there in order to work."

Penalties do not turn angry, frustrated players into motivated, ambitious teammates.

'if you had 4 friends all talking to each other you could come up with a powerful team, I've only played with Randoms though."

As have most of us. This is why the skill imbalances (and matchmaking imbalances) in team-based games are amplified by whether or not you can find able, like-minded squad mates. And most people can't or won't, yet the game has to be built around the handful who can.

100%. MIXTAPE was completely unplayable without this penalty. I support implementing it in all game modes.
