Can’t find friends on EA for cross play on BF 2042

This is such trash… I’ve seen forum after forum of the same exact issue with no resolve.

At first, I tried adding my friend via his EA ID via my Xbox and that didn’t work. He then tried adding me via his PlayStation with the same method - didn’t work. Then we tried doing the same via our email addresses and that didn’t work.

Then we signed into Origin - double checked our privacy settings - cleared our caches - searched for each other’s IDs then email accounts - and nothing it didn’t work. He then downloaded the Origin app for Mac and was able to add me via my email - BUT then I couldn’t accept his invite.

So then I had to download the Origin app - I accepted the request and then we couldn’t find each other in game.

I restarted my game and console - unlinked my EA account and then restarted the game - and nothing worked.

what a bunch of trash - no wonder no one plays Battefield… get it together EA; you’re going to continue to lose money for basic functionality issues you somehow can’t get resolved after over a year.

    Yep - double and triple checked cross-play. And he has a PS5 and I have the Xbox S. Same version.

    @holycrapimbaked Cheers - really wish Microsoft had gone with a different name to make things simple.

    You might have already checked but I take it you've ruled out privacy setting being the cause?

    @holycrapimbaked Quite an odd one then. I had something similar with one friend who's on PlayStation but I just assumed he'd given me his PSN name instead, as other it was working for other friends, but that's clearly not the case for you. I'll poke around and see if I can find anything else to try.

    @ElliotLH Awesome, thank you! We've tried everything from checking emails, to PSN / XBL names, and to our Origin/EA names and nothing has worked despite being friends on Origin. Super frustrating. Just want to play with my friend lol.

    Just to be sure your adding the EA name in game and not in Origin. @holycrapimbaked

    Origin platform only sees PC players, when adding EA Frindes in-game adds to different frinds list.

    Are any of the account underage/teen on EA or platform?
