Re: Please make an animation for exiting vehicles.

@I_DYN4MO_I BFV showed use why more animations are not the best to have, currently 2042 has entering animations BUT allow you to aim and shoot even before your playermodel fully enters the vehicle. and exiting is fast like bf4 and before with directional exit too. I rather have a fast exit to be able to save a teammate or a friend from impending death by mackay with c5 with the ability to do so rather than be artificially slowed down because of animations.

@BownrInSweatPanzI have to respectfully disagree. First of all I don't think Mackey's should even be able to grapple vehicles see here - https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/My-take-on-the-only-way-specialists-can-work-in-this-game/m-p/13018437#M182143

And secondly I strongly believe that vehicle players should use the plethora of defensive systems like detection pulses, concealment & evasion systems, thermal HMG/miniguns, grenade/volley/flak/incendiary/cannister pods to deal with C5 threats instead of magically teleporting out of their vehicle when they already hold all the advantage cards from being in a vehicle.

@I_DYN4MO_I Why do you want to discourage leaving a vehicle temporarily to deal with a threat. thats like asking not to be repaired by an nearby engineer, you already take the risk leaving a vehicle to help repair or distract or kill an enemy that is too close while the seats have angles they cannot shoot at. even then not all weapons are good enemies that close. Let players take the risk to get out of a vehicle to bail, repair, defend it, or even help when the seat isn't cut out for other vehicle fights.

Exiting a vehicle seems broken for me. If I do it near an enemy, I am normally dead before I'm visible. They see me before I see them every time.

  • This is a lesser of two evil situation for me.

As annoying as it is to be gunned down by someone insta-exiting.  It's even more annoying to deal with the clunky exit animations every time.

anything that could slow the exit from a vehicle I feel negative about.

@OskooI_007  It certainly had animations (I don't know about a 3rd person perspective) and is much better and much more realistic.

@BownrInSweatPanzThe way it currently works with exiting a vehicle like a tank in 2042 isn't even a "risk" especially now you can have insta-directional-teleport exit and instantly gun someone down that has to place 3x C5 onto it to defeat it.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to exit a vehicle. I also think directional exit should be a thing providing there is an door or hatch in said direction.

I remember how exiting vehicles in BFV was now. It took a long time to exit due to the animation. So if you bailed out of a plane at flag A, you ended up at flag B by the time the animation finished.

Just played some BFV with a friend. All the animations were awesome!!!
i love how animations slowed down the game and made it more immersive. I was absolutely in awe looking at my friend kneeling down  to revive someone. The whole animation!! Wow! In BF2042 the soldiers just poke in the air often looking in a different direction. Speeding up things in BF2042 like ‘appearing’ outside a vehicle look ridiculous and are bad for your ADHD.
waiting for exiting the vehicle and worrying about making it or not before getting blown up is exciting in BFV. Takedowns are all first person too. Amazing.

@JOGAGATYAI agree! And to those who think the animations are too slow I'm sure they could speed it up a little bit and find a middle ground. I understand fully 2042's a faster game.

The teleport cheese is ridiculous and lazy. Another legacy feature they've not bothered with yet they charge us more.

@I_DYN4MO_I I think that the "legacy feature" is entirely dependent on the game. BFV had the animations, but the previous ones didn't. So which is the "legacy" feature? At least you're halfway there with having an animation to hit when someone is getting back in their vehicle instead of instant teleport in and out.

@AnobixI'm not sure what you're getting at tbh. Legacy feature or not, it's still a progressional feature added to the series that was cut in 2042. It's still another backwards step.

Animations don't have to be clunky like in BFV. They can be quicker and with a directional exit animation, whats the problem?

I'm trying to find a middle ground here. I don't want a sitting duck to shoot at but at the same time I don't want to be gunned down by someone instantly appearing out of thin air in front of me. I'm looking for a fair fight and a degree of realism.

If a vehicle player fails to use their defensive systems to stop a close threat and needs to exit then they should use directional exit to exit on the other side of the vehicle to avoid being a sitting duck. The animation could take half a second. At least that's fair imo.

Here's what worries me about messing with the animations exiting vehicles. This could reintroduce the aim down sight bug that keeps happening.

@sk1lld I just hope EA DICE don't half * the next installment more than anything. Its probably to much of an ask for something like this in 2042 anyway.

Truthfully I'm not opposed to the idea, but knowing how bad the netcode is in the game and the mismatch and tick rate issues I could just imagine the increased number of deaths that will happen. I've died after already getting in the gunner seat of vehicles for instance.
