Game crashes constantly on PS3

I really want to enjoy this game, and I have been - except for all the crashes! I've had to hard reset my PS3 several times, and still it keeps crashing. The first time it did it, it would always do it at a certain point before I could get through the introductory section. I was finally able to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Occasionally the game would lag, but it would never crash from then on - and the music would as well. Then, just recently (as I finally decided to continue the story, going to the next story point after going to the Hinterlands), as soon as I entered the city and proceeded to the end of the row of statues, the game would crash, just before making a loud, high-pitched screeching sound, and kicking me to the PS3 home screen. It is not my system - all other games work on it fine. DA:I is the issue, and I really would like to play it, at least without the crashes!
Does anyone know what is going on?
