Re: Mod problem - Riordan in underwear! :(

@folgore62 Generally mod problems are best dealt with by asking the creator of the mod. If the mod is on Nexus I suggest taking a look at the comments on the mod page, if others have had the same problem you might find a solution there. Often issues like this are caused by things like mods conflicting, so you might also want to take a look at any other mods you have installed to see if any of those could also affect the characters mentioned.

As for Sophia, you might want to check the mod is compatible with that DLC.

Edit: OK, so I was bored and took a look at the mod page. Unfortunately the creator is no longer supporting it. I also see you posted there a few times already, perhaps you came here out of desperation. 😛

The mod is supposed to be compatible with the DLC, so that shouldn't be an issue. Did you take notice of this, posted in the description?:
NOTE: Loading an existing save game will not change their appearance, instead they may be naked, or invisible body, and all sorts of problems. To fix this, simply start a new game, or load an earlier save game before entering the area. For example, if you load already inside ostagar Duncan and Alistair will have problems with their appearance or simply wearing their default. So Load a save file that's right before you leave your origins story and continue playing from there. By the time you reach ostagar, Duncan and Alistair would be in their new modded armors.

So if you installed this mod mid game, that could be your problem.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, the mod says it is not compatible with other mods which change the characters in question. (From the mod description: This mod is NOT compatible with other mods that replaces NPC character/creature files (.UTC) that edits the same character / file name. (At least, not yet compatible anyway))

Also from the mod description:

---------------------
KNOWN ISSUES:
---------------------
- There are some times when grey wardens show up naked or wearing yellow clothing after installing this mod. This ONLY happens when you loaded an existing save file of a map you already visited. For example, if you start a game without this mod and you progress until sometime early ostagar and you save there. The game will save Duncan and Alistair's resources there. If you install this mod and you load that save game, the resources will be in conflict between what is saved within your save file and the new mod. As always in a case of conflicts, the game will not use either of them, and ends up being naked. To fix this, Simply load an earlier save file BEFORE you enter the latest map/area. In the example above, try to load a save game in your Origins story, before you enter Ostagar the first time. It should work.

Trawling through the comments, in old ones it is mentioned that you can leave a character unmodded by deleting that characters .UTC file (unsure if a later update to the mod could have made that no longer an option), perhaps you could do that for Sophia?

There are nearly 100 pages of comments, so I'll leave any further trawling up to you. Hopefully you'll be able to figure it out. 🙂 Good luck, and enjoy the game.

  • Thanks.  Sadly, given that many of the mods are five or more years old, the modders may have moved on to other things and don't keep track of posts to their mods.  The first thing I did was post to the mod and messaged the modder.  No contact; oh well...

@folgore62 Was not expecting you to still be around, I updated my previous post (rather than double post), so you might want to see if any of the new information is helpful 😉

  • Thanks for your efforts, Niah!

I had installed the Grey Wardens of Ferelden mod at the beginning of a playthrough.  I had the "yellow Duncan" problem and followed the modders advice and everything seemed to be working fine after Ostagar.

Then I had the problem of invisible armor for Sophia at Soldiers' Peak.

    In Denerim, Riordan in underwear.

At this point, I may do another reinstall and pick my mods more carefully!  Oh well...
