Re: DA:I Crash on Startup

@Faithaclese Do you use AVG? If so, there is currently an issue some people using AVG are having, there are plenty of posts about it here on the boards if you want more detailed info, but in short, you can add an exception to your AVG (more info here) or just temporarily disable AVG protection by right clicking AVG in the system tray and selecting 'temporarily disable AVG protection'.

If you don't use AVG, please post a dxdiag, there are instructions in the spoiler tag of this sticky. It also mentions other information which may be helpful to include, though you've included most of that already 😉

Good luck, let us know how you go 🙂

@Northern_Frieze Did you try temporarily disabling AVG protection (right click it in the system tray, next to the clock, and select 'temporarily disable AVG protection')? Just to make sure that's not the cause of your issue. Some people have found the only thing that fixed it for them was uninstalling AVG altogether, there are other free AV programs, such as Avast or BitDefender, that you could try instead.

Nothing really stands out on your dxdiag, though I'm tired and my brain isn't working so well at the moment, so I could be missing something. 😛

You've tried everything Faithaclese mentioned? Have you tried deleting the profileOptions_profile file from your save folder? If you're using any command line arguments, try removing that (if you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm guessing you're not using one, so don't worry about it).
