How to Verify Existing Game Files on Non Default Game Locations

I had to reload my windows OS but I had existing Origin games installed on a different hard driver,  lets call it G:\EaGames\. This G drive is almost completely full of games but should have had all the files needed when I reinstalled EA app the only option I could find was to try to download my games again. I tried updating the library to the G: drive but the App looked like download was the only option and because the drive was almost full it wouldn't let me do anything. Maybe I needed to do something else to get the App to see the files but I couldn't seem to find the verify button.  I ended up deleting the game files from the drive to free up the space I needed so I could then redownload the 70GB of game files that already existed in the same spot. I would however like to know how to do this for the future or at least bring it up for the development team to make this easier, I can't be the only one trying to fit all their games on the smaller NVME drives.
