Re: Online Service disabled - PS4 - EA FC 25

I wished I'd set him up as a dob of 2000 when I first setup I get sick of these constant problems. I think it's because in some countries blanket restriction on online restriction is 16 looks like all been set to that.

Strangely it says Standard has been installed not Ultimate but others say that is just labelling mistake


I contacted EA they said it's a PS issue - what a surprise.

I thought of just setting up another account on PS4 but how can you play the game when it's purchased on the child account?

Makes you wonder about the amounts we spend on all this with zero real support

  • ............ and I have to say my son is being cooler than I would be about something he's been waiting excitedly for for months, paid a lot of money on it, got up at 6am to play and 4 days later he still can't go online and feels he has seriously wasted his money!

    I've set up a new profile for my son with dob indicating he is 15, this allows full access, despite the same restrictions being on the account. The downside is that his history and eafc points etc are linked to the previous account and it looks like they are not transferrable.

    Could be a work around until they decide this is worth fixing?

    I've contacted EA to change his account DOB directly but interestingly they can't as there is an issue with the tool they use to do this. Its clearly busted their end!

  • @tedsdream23, and anyone else here, if you are UK based I've found a phone number that can get you to a human who can refund your purchase (I just refunded mine) and then you ahve the option to buy again from a different, older, account or not buy it at all until they fix this basic problem of not honouring the parental controls on the PS4

    However if he creates a new account he'll lose everything on FC 24, and won't get the pre order stuff will he?

  • I am having the same issue with the same circumstances as everyone here. I've discovered something myself engine trying to workout What's gone wrong. From the main menu when you start up the playstation if you move into the FC25 game and then press options on the controller it opens up a sub menu. If you scroll down to information it shows the parental control is set for level 2. If you do the same thing for FC24 it shows parental control are level 5. Level 2 controls are for pegi 3 I think. I have no idea how to resolve this so if anybody can provide a solution I think this should resolve the problem

  • @freshies123 Did you get the money back even though you had opened the game? Then it might be worth to try call them and ask for a refund. I only called them asking for fixing the problem, which they couldn’t even answer clearly, just referred to EA. I’m located in Sweden so can only call Sweden PlayStation support. But if you got your refunded I can refer to that to get a higher chance of getting that with mine.

    @Seumas23numpty I’ve also discovered that but have no idea how to change that level. I think the problem is so much complicated that we can’t solve it without EA. 

    I’ve spent over 10 hours troubleshooting this and just can’t understand it. My twinbrother has the exactly same type of PSN account and EA account like me, saying that he’s 14 years old and has the parental control setting activated. No restrictions should affect any of us from playing online. I’m almost 100% sure about that. My twin bro also bought the ultimate edition and here is the strange thing. He can play online in ultimate team, and the only difference between us is that he plays on PS5 and I on PS4. He’s not done anything to get online access or something, it did just work from the beginning. With the same parental control settings. 

    By the way, @Seumas23numpty the problem maybe won’t get solved by changing the level like your theory. When I logged in and checked the level information at my brothers PS5 it said parental control “3 years” which might be the same as level 2 on ps4.

    Together we continue to fight to get what we’ve paid for. If we fail we should all get our many back. 

  • (UK): 020 3538 2665 (Mon to Fri, 9am-5pm) but yes, you're right. He won't be able to carry anything over from FC24. If you get the refund and then repurchase via the new account he'll get whatever the bundle comes with - not sure if it's still pre-order anymore.

    Yes, I purchased online from the playstore using my PS Wallet. I was refunded back to my wallet and the downloaded game was subsequently locked and upable to be played (as you'd expect)

    @Spurs_Gamer_FC You'll find that this is only an issue with PS4, not PS5. It was the same with FC24 in that they do not honour the parental restrictions set on the PS4.
