So I found a way to fix the visual bug. Basically when you are in the match lobby switch from your current preset to a different preset, then back again to the preset you want to use. This should make your stats appear correctly, however the issues with the free kicks are still there. I can cross fine and do corners fine but still my shot power whenever I decide to shoot the FK is base stats.  Hopefully this at least half fixes your problem as it did mine.
