Controller connected to PC doesn't work only on Pro Clubs

Recently bought the game solely to play Pro Clubs with some friends. I use a gaming laptop, and I connect a Xbox Controller using a cable to it. Any offline mode and Volta is fine with a controller (However I sense a delay in controller inputs) but mostly works. As soon as I enter a pro clubs match, the controller may work for a while but suddenly I would lose all control, and the player would just run into the last direction I inputted and be uncontrollable. But for some reason I can pause and navigate the menu and everything else, control also sometimes returns but more often than not doesnt. This is frustrating as not only can I not do anything it willl always kick and forfeit the match for being idle. Ive tried disconnecting my keyboard and mouse, shutting off the touchpad built to my laptop, even thought it was a controller issue and went to buy another ps4 controller which had the same issue. Ive searched endless forums to no solution but a lot of problems. I also launch using the EA app and not steam. Can anyone give any solutions?
