Sim Placed in Neighborhood Becomes Bartender

I created a Sim for my main Sim  to intereact with and tried to place them into a dorm in the University neighborhood. Instead of becoming a student as I expected, the placed Sim became a barista/bartender. This makes it very hard for my main Sim to interact with them as whenever they are called or invited, the placed Sim replies that they are busy at work and don't know when they will be off. I tried to move the placed Sim out of the dorm and into a new one, but it created a copy of the Sim. I then deleted the copy, but I cannot find the original Sim anywhere anymore and when called they still reply that they are busy at work.

Is there any way to find the Sim I originally placed and make him stop being a barista/bartender so that my main Sim can interact with him?

Is there a way to prevent Sims from randomly becoming bartenders when placed into a houshold/lot?

Is there a way to make placed sims become students at the University?
