Sims 3 launcher won't open

I had this problem last year and deleted everything through reno uninstall, but I have been missing the sims 3. I downloaded the game on the EA app and 2 things happen.

  1. I open it through the EA app, and it pushes me back to the EA app
  2. I open it through the launcher and get the error window that is titled "Sims 3 Launcher.exe Bad Image" Inside the message says c://windows/system32/secur32.dll ...not designed or contains an error.. error status 0Xc0000020

Here are the solutions I have tried

  1. Uninstall and reinstall
  2. Clear the cache
  3. Repair the game
  4. Repair the EA app
  5. Download DXsetup and restart the computer.

I would be forever thankful if I could finally fix this problem!

    chkdsk /f /r c:

Having said that, I would suggest running a repair install of Windows.  This shouldn't delete any of your data, and it's the closest you can get to a fresh install of the OS without wiping your computer.  Here's how:

Again, this shouldn't delete anything, but if you get to step 13 and are NOT asked to keep personal files and apps, back out and start over.

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Once you've done that, please reinstall DirectX 9 again, in case a system issue prevented it from installing correctly the first time.  Use this method:

Please also uninstall and reinstall .NET Framework 3.5.  Click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and .NET 3.5 will be near the top of the list.  Click the filled-in box to uninstall, and restart your computer.  Repeat the process, clicking the now-empty box, to reinstall, and restart again.  If .NET 3.5 is already uninstalled, you can simply install and restart.

I checked for updates and tried the command prompt chkdsk /f . This command was unable to run, and here is the error message I received. SFC still stops at 81% and then sends me an error.
