Prism Art Studio Jewelry issue

I downloaded the Prism Art Studio ages ago and it worked perfectly, but in the past year I've noticed something- I can no longer use ANY of the jewelry that comes with the set. Using the

Artisan's Glassblowing and Jewelry Making Station isn't a problem, and I can craft jewelry, but I absolutely can't wear it. If I make a necklace and try to equip it, it just disappears. I recently did a reinstall of all my sim3packs, and when I ONLY installed the art set, it still wouldn't give me the jewelry. Has anyone ever had this problem? Can anyone help me?

@Rose_of_Flames  With that little store content, it's probably easiest to just install it into the new Sims 3 folder and move over any other content you want to save from the old folder.  Mods and custom content, whether in .Sims3Pack or .package form, shouldn't affect how store stuff works either unless you have a mod that's specifically designed to change the way a store item works.

Let me know if you have any trouble with the process.

  • @Rose_of_Flames  I haven't heard of this exact issue, but it's the kind of thing that could be due to a corrupt ccmerged.package, or perhaps another file associated with store content.  As a test, try installing the studio in a clean Sims 3 folder.  Move the existing folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, open the launcher to create a new folder, download and install only the studio, and test in a new save.

If this works, there are a few different ways to approach things from here.  Probably the most straightforward is to reinstall your store content in the new Sims 3 folder, then move your saves and any other files you want to keep from the old folder to the new one.  Here's a description of what the other files are for:

If reinstalling everything would be too much of a chore, there are workarounds; let me know if you want to use one, and in that case let me know how much premium store content (just the premium items and worlds, not the rest) you own.

Ok, I followed your instructions and it worked on the test. I'm going to slowly reinstall all my mods, both package and sims3pack, and see if it still works properly and if one of them may have caused the issue. IF so, I'll go from there.

Just for future reference, if I do need a work around, I'll list the store content I use here as well(listed by purchase old-new):

I do have a couple mods that do that, but none that are directed at the glassblowing station. It does appear that it might be a mod issue, or possibly some other piece of CC, so I've decided to reinstall my stuff in small groupings, then testing ingame. That way, I should be able to narrow it down. I just hope it's not something I use heavily. I am VERY grateful for your help so far, as it's helped me get actual results, which is more than I had before.
