Re: The sims 3 only posts work related memories

@enchantress6274  Many memories aren't repeatable, so try doing something your sim doesn't have a memory for yet.  (Learning a new skill is a good bet, as is reaching level 5 or 10 in that skill.)  If your sim doesn't get a new memory, start a new save instead and test there.

By the way, memories are one of the biggest resource hogs in the game.  Many of us disable them entirely, and our saves run better for it.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I knew about the firsts all along. I should've posted that when I made my post, my apologies. I've started a new game on a new computer with everything being firsts, and I still can't post any memories. Not even the work memories anymore. I deleted some memories from thesims3.com, and it still never posts anything. I got a warning that I can't upload any new content until I delete some content from thesims3.com. I have 3094 Items found in my memories alone. Do I still have too many memories or should I be able to at least post ten more? The other point I should note is that the reason I haven't done anything until now is because my memories are treasured, I don't want to delete them, but my friends want to see my game too on their walls. I cleared the cache, and repaired my game. I contacted EA, they said come here to Report a Bug.

I don't know if there any Me Too's yet, I saw my old post and clicked Reply. I hope I was concise, there's nothing harder than clearing up misunderstandings online for me. The memories that I want to post , say they posted, and never appear on the Wall. Thanks for your time.

The memories I want to post are custom memories. If they're on the site, I can delete them from my game. It would be really awesome if you could save your scrapbook to your computer or cloud. I really love the houses I built and the Sims I created in the memories, and look back on them from time to time.

@enchantress6274  Honestly, if you're using thesims3.com to store your in-game screenshots and memories, you could do a lot better.  The site is barely being maintained these days and may eventually contract or disappear altogether, or at least lose some of the functionality it still has.  I don't have any information about when that might happen, but it almost certainly has to happen at some point, perhaps when Sims 5 shows up.  (If it shows up.)

What you might prefer to do is create a blog and/or use a photo-sharing site to store your images.  If you want ideas for how people present and share their games, this is a good place to browse:

    https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/stories-and-legacies

Some players link their blogs; others only post on that site.  But either way, their content is uploaded to another site and they can choose how to present it.  The other advantage of an outside site is that it likely supports a larger amount of data than thesims3.com, and if you max out the storage on one account, you can create a new one.

Having said that, if you do want to make your thesims3.com page work, try clearing the cache for Internet Explorer.  Even if you never use it, the launcher does for some purposes.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorite sites.

If that doesn't help, move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts, start a random new save, play until your sim gets a memory, and try to upload that.  The point is not to abandon your existing saves, just to see whether the new folder makes a difference.  If it does, it's easy to move your existing content to that folder; if not, you'll know it would be a waste of time.

Your response was quick and thorough, I really appreciate that and the time you spent typing for me. I already post to Instagram, but my friends want to see what I'm doing with my Sims. I feel you're right about the site, though, that it's barely maintained. They said to me, personally, that they'd never close the Store. But, I still need to know if I can post the game to Instagram with the sound on. I don't want copyright strikes.

I've started a new game on a new computer, so moving files won't matter, because I still can't post. I've recently cleared the cache to Internet Explorer too.

@enchantress6274  Sorry for the very late reply.  I wanted to ask around about the policy on posting gameplay to social media (e.g. Instagram), since I wasn't totally sure what the rules are.

One thing you should avoid is posting video that includes a third-party song, even if it's performed in Simlish.  This doesn't include all in-game songs: some songs were originals for the game, as is the Build and Buy music.  For the radio tracks, you can see the composer and title within the game options—a song with a title in Simlish is original to the game and should be okay to post.

Other than music, you should be fine.
