Unfortunately liveries are something that is going to be controlled by the teams and their agreements with their own sponsors, so I don't think EA have free reign to do what they like (see McLaren always having bare sidepods in the game despite them featuring plenty of non-vaping sponsors that could be put there.
Pokerstars logos are never going to happen in a PEGI 3 rated game, just like Party Poker on the McLaren, Stake on the Alfa Romeo, Peroni on the Aston Martin, Vuse/Velo on the McLaren, Heineken around the tracks, the list goes on....anything alcohol, smoking or gambling related is never going to be in the game because of the child-friendly rating.
Thanks for response, I do agree on gambling and smoking brands as they advertise bad habits for younger generations, now regarding the Maclaren I do believe can be done as the side pod has non of sponsors but exact same sponsor is on rear wing which do not make any cense as they got it on rear wing but not on side pod then in real life racing events on weekends they have Maclaren with OKX on rear wing and side pod and not only this weekend in Hungaroring, but other weekends where Maclaren had this on side pods and rear wing, so I do believe that EA team could approach Maclaren F1 Racing team and advise them on this, stating that for aesthetics and also to real life representation of Maclaren Racing F1 team could we kindly provide to all F1 fans community players of F1 game livery that will represent better the current F1 Maclaren Car which currently has OKX sponsor on rear wing but side pods are blank and we would like to fill that gap with exact same sponsor OKX.
So as per above I'm sure they would agree and we will or could see this livery at its mighty glory
Provided Codemasters carry out contractual agreements in its license. They won’t be approaching any F1 teams or FOM to advise on anything. Firstly creates costs and work they don’t need to or care to do. Secondly F1 do the advising. If there are omissions such as sponsors on sidepods it’s because FOM tell Codemasters to omit it. FOM are famously difficult to deal with when it comes to licensing
But then what harm the OKX sponsor will do on side pod ? as it's present on rear wing, with the same thing then why would they allow have OKX sponsor on rear wing but not on side pod ? dose not make any cense to the thing or justice.
I mean seriously, I got the part EA or Codmasters wont approach F1 teams or FOM, but since the Codmasters has contract with those sponsors why not just apply the OKX sponsor on side pod would that cause death sentence? or Damage reputation or loses of the sponsor licence?
As you might be aware that the talented people of community would have sponsors on cars liveries as mods which as far I have seen even VEO is on some Maclaren Liveries made by Community. Thing is each update that just cleans all mods restores game to original and then game is sad back again not to that point but you got the idea small things such as sound mod or livery or sponsors mods for race tracks brings this or any other F1 game let's say 22 or 23 to next level of immersion which to be honest could be all in the game but officially make it ultimate F1 racing game experience not to mention each time yes, F1 games getting slightly better with each gen, and adds bit more immersion but it's still lacking a lot to become simulator perhaps one day 🙂
I just wish Codmasters hears community and what people actually want to see and hear and as I said previously details do matter no matter how small they are but they do! Visuals is only one side of the coin, for it to be as one it needs all the rest.
@StarKIndMan I’m a huge McLaren fan. I’ve put atleast in 700 hours in last four games. Does a visual detail as minor as this one bother me? Nope didn’t even notice. I play the game to race cars not look at them. Gameplay is king and hat Vast majority of gamers care about. With or without the sponsor. I can tell instantly it’s a McLaren.
Don’t believe me on gameplay is way more important. If you don’t know already. Search YouTube for Battlebit remastered. Game is Roblox like Battlefield game and is destroying all the big aaa fps games on steam. Because the gameplay is awesome and no cares about the low graphical quality
@StarKIndMan As others have pointed out, the livery bit is not as straight forward because of the regs on certain products being present in a game with this age rating.
And liveries are done in collaboration with the teams. As in, they send references to kick it off and need to sign on the end result. We're not and will hardly ever be privy to the details, but given how teams like McLaren rotate their sponsors I wouldn't write it off that "blank" sidepod being the only solution approved by them among others discussed with Codemasters. Case in point, just on the previous GP at Silverstone McLaren that Velo sponsor on their sidepods. So having OKX fixed on the sidepods was probably discussed and vetoed by the F1 team themselves.
All that said, kudos for the effort and the time you took writing those suggestions up. Haha this sounds dismissive, but (1 ) I'm a forum user just like you, being in no position to dismiss anything, and ( 2) I genuinely mean it in a appreciative way.
I play the game to race the cars AND look at them in replays. I watch the replay after every one of my races, I'm a big fan of the replay in racing games.
@mariohomoh So and how about the sounds could they be improved be more to the real life counterparts, as per my post originally you can see attached samples videos and listen the sounds of Honda Engines on Redbull also the Merc engine used on Maclaren has slight pronounced whine of gearbox when slowing down and then accelerating, not to mention the sounds of gear shifts must be slight more lauder or more noticeable I would say, would love to se some improvements on the sounds
And last but not least are we in chance to see drivers line up update as Nick Devries has now gone from Alpha Tauri I would love to see our Honey Badger Back in the F1 grid in F1 game!
@StarKIndMan sounds are captured in loco by Codemasters. They can obviously be remixed, enhancing this or that to give certain aspects more prominence or to sound more like the TV broadcast, but what you hear is real.
Personally once I went with the Driver/Helmet sound mix on the game I could never look back.
I know for a fact that suggestions are always welcomed by the team though, including @issueskid13
Ricciardo is confirmed to be reintroduced to the game.
"They can obviously be remixed, enhancing this or that to give certain aspects more prominence or to sound more like the TV broadcast, but what you hear is real."
Why would they feel that have to change that? As opposed to just... making it like the TV broadcast? I use the Broadcast mix since I like the sound with the starting lights, and the engines definitely do not sound the same as their real life counterparts. I feel like the current engine sounds are too high in pitch or range of the engine revs, and at top speed. I feel like F1 22 engines sounded way closer than 23 does. Even F2 engines don't have that same kind of "punch" for the turbo in-game, as they do in real life.
Mercedes engine sound worse than last year. The CM re-recorded it and said it was real,
but "Okay we recorded this year's real engine so it's real engine sound, guys. Good job we." that's not enough.
I think it should be mastered to be similar to the sound users hear on broadcast. Richer and more sophisticated.
this year's Mercedes and Honda engine sounds are a bit poor, and the driver mix is normal, unlike last year, with no difference from the broadcast mix.
Suggestions may well be welcomed but how many of them do they actually bother with? A very small percentage I can bet.
Im still waiting for replies on posts in this forum from months ago. They pick and choose at free will and arguably the people running this forum are just as culpable as the people that make the game.
Take the ‘OSD glitch’ for example. It was never bugged. They just decided to not to tell us the changes that they have have made. This further proves my point that they do not read or acknowledge any of our complaints as it was in the patch notes as investigating and then fixed.
THEY DIDNT CHANGE OR FIX anything.
This is just one example of the incompetence of the people running this forum.
Well guys I did also try and put big topic here on this sad forum! And got response from someone from the forum management stating all sounds are real records that are then mixed in game!
well it’s obvious that they just can’t deliver and they just can’t make it right! I don’t get it there are so so many talented people that do actually make unbelievable sound mods for other racing titles such as AC and their mods! Are just by far better than official F1 game!
Big issues is Mercedes sounds it’s way if and horrible! Honda engine could be better but missing the exhaust pops and cracks on downshifts and also more pronounced gearbox whining sound on deceleration and acceleration! Same with Mercedes engine that is used on Maclaren as it’s whine sound it’s more pronounced than on Mercedes team. Ferrari engine is okay but need improvement!
Then the exterior the deceleration exhaust sound when shifting down OMG that is just horrible it sounds like WW2 v1 rocket 🚀! Seriously just listen that and close your eyes imagine it’s f1 23!
so yha.. sounds must be updated on exterior as the exhaust sound on deceleration is more pronounced more aggressive and deep and sharper than we have now, example of RL exterior deceleration exhaust on show shifts!
more can be found we need more crispy sounds more pronounced sound of floor scratching bouncing sounds! more crackles and pops on downshifts and exterior sound exhaust must be improved by a lot!
EA/Coddies must rework and update sounds as driving F1 car in video game with no accurate and good sounds it’s just looking at fast moving pictures! * Hell EA TEAM AND CODDIES! guys for real people that are not paid it’s not their job are capable to make close to realistic sounds for Assetto Corsa an game that is older than 10 years as earlier access was back in November 2013! Eventually Assetto gives ability to modify game via mods specially on sounds level and allow talented people to bring unique sounds that makes huge difference in immersion and gameplay! They are not super some things might be off but some are just outshine F1 23 official game and audio we currently have!
just hear this F1 sound mod for AC! Come one EA/CD can you guys review and adjust sounds in our F1 23 game, as not all is lost! Example make the floor sounds scratches more pronounced and louder, louder turbo, exhaust more aggressive higher pitched more pops and crackles on downshifts and then exhaust on exterior camera more aggressive more crisp more pronounced and deeper on notes, adjust things like that which you already got in game! We have been asking for those things for years now! Simple things can make it sound more accurate! As now it’s like I’m driving hover! Damn guys! To me person that work with audio as audio designer at DCS it’s ears killing I hear so many issues and problems with current sounds! Not to mention that year by year all we have it’s just tweaked and copy pasted sounds from previous f1 titles 2019-2023 it’s almost same thing!
@StarKIndMan While the sounds ingame are not perfect they are far better than previous year and improving every year
Also Codemasters are NOT allowed to use official F1 recordings but must have a seperate microphone placed in another spot in the car. I dont know if you got any clue about audio waves etc. but in such a messy place like the back of an F1 car it makes quite a bit of difference where you put the mic, thats why the official sound differs every year too, not because the engine magically change their sound while being basically the same, no because even millimeters make an audible difference and Codemasters potentially have to squeeze their mic far more than that apart from the official F1 microphone so there will always be a difference
Besides the examples you give are also not sounding like the real thing, at some things they are better yes, but definitely not 1:1 the same, far from it in some instances and that despite using the official mic recording
But in all fairness yes there is quite a bit of room for improvements on the shifting sounds
@Meza994 Well I got it and I understand the processes of recording and all the ins and outs of recordings I used to do myself but on another beasts such as Military Fighter jets recording F18’s and F16’s and all other airframes! I know how is important mic location as what mic is being used the preparations it takes and effort to make good recording and before you do it proper you would spend all day getting them! Not to mention work goes in after the recording once back at studio getting all audio processed and amount of work goes in just with one audio sample from row recording to the working sample that can be used in game! I worked on core audio for DCS for 3 years as lead audio from Echo19 studio! This is reason why when I drive in F1 video game sounds to me are mega important for immersion to connect with the car to hear small details and audio is huge part as it tells you what’s happening around you! What you are driving and were and it relates you to what you doing and dives you in the F1 experience! And not having great sounds or at least missing some of the aspects of audio takes that immersion that experience off you.
I know they can do better they have all ability to get it right and listen what people want and expect! Let’s say they could add filters like they did via options in audio select live feed cam broadcast then audio in there will be muffled at same time engine sounds the grrrr brrrrt sounds will be more pro dominant and gearbox whine sound more pronounced more louder, the up shifts and downshifts, all those sounds that interact on body or are mechanical sounds that not only produce specific sounds but also chape them and pass them trough the body of car or specific part, like the sound of scratching floor on tarmac surface also would be more pronounced as at that speed floor touching the tarmac passes the vibration and it’s sound a cross the chassis of F1 car trough the all body and even pilot with his helmet can hear and feel it! Now many F1 games passed by and we still can have this audio to be heard enough louder! Same thing with audio of exhaust! And other detail audio that should be there but it’s just not there or not enough loud or missing!
So yes I know what it take to get audio in and how hard can be! But having the correct attitude and passion and willingness to do things and do them right can boost and improve immediately the immersion and experience what is like driving the f1 car!
So yha me and many others still hope and believe we can have this audio improvements within this F1 23 game! Small but solid update can be made and brought in for us to enjoy more and obtain or squeeze bit more f1 immersion in to our lives! Hehe
@StarKIndMan Again i agree that there is still plenty to improve but expecting structure-based sound (dunno what the proper word in english is haha) is a bit much at this point in time.. No game has proper structure-based sound simulation especially as getting an impression on how exactly this ends up at the driver and his ears is mostly only known by the drivers, i wouldnt be surprised if they say they barely hear anything more - yes they will hear more for sure, but will it be 100% as you said and not blend out a lot of it because of the focus and adrenaline rush? We dont know
But again i agree that the could and should improve on gearbox, exhaust and floor scraping, especially the first two even in T-Cam but id keep the criticism more kind and friendly, we know EA wont have made things easier on them, we dont know how much time they get for mic placement etc. and knowing F1 teams it wont be much, we dont know the quality of their recordings like how much gearbox, exhaust etc. are even audible there, you can only do so much with bad base material but again, they could and should do more, id just keep it friendlier as long as you dont know that they only put in 10h a year into audio haha 🙂
Hi all, good night or morning depends on we’re you are!
so here is an great also comparison of audio in game and TV pod cam from each engine manufacturer in F1 the broadcast audio sound its impressive god quality just super! If you have F1 TV just go to any race and jump in the TV pod cam view from race and you can have ultra high quality audio /video for full audio experience!
but as we all know due the compression and all that I’m sure video has lost some of the initial quality, this compare video was made by someone eles, which clearly show that EA still need to have at least small or medium patch that will correct improve some of the F1 audio!
fingers cross we see soon audio improvements in patch notes!
Here is the Charles Leclerc in helmet cam audio extremely god quality and you can hear all noises and sounds even the floor bumps sounds which not only audible for pilot he feels them trough the body and chassis, this is why we need improvement patch on audio!
the current in helmet audio mix is great i do like it in game but as said we just need improvements higher volumes and slight adjustments on pitch on perhaps adding slight better remixes and adjusting that gearbox whine more pronounced audible the crispness on exhaust more pronounced less bass and more aggressive and definitely the sounds of gear up and downshifts a cross the board improvement is just needed!
@ScarDuck14 Yes friend he is this is like really on the line and things must be reviewed! The audio in game needs overhaul fixes and adjustments that would boost bit more the immersion!
For example the Honda and Mercedes engines need slight adjustment on more pronounced base audio wave sample of actual engine "grrrrrrr" that sound in RL is more pronounced more a live as in F1 game its bit muffled and blend, among other things I have already mention above. Thanks all for support and if I could help I would for free!
Also I would like to mention that besides of the audio would be such a great thing if we could have more sparks caused by floor scratching in game as now we have such small amount of sparks and they are almost not present! In RL they happen quite often and they are bright and very vives colour in game they are almost white and they happen like in a race 72 laps perhaps few times only when in real life they happen quite often!
here video I recorded of sparks from RB! Amount of spark particles and how prolonged they are!
Just wonder if anyone going to respond from the EA/DC as this really and important aspect of immersion allows us players to enjoy more be more immersed in f1 action, we need fixes improvements on sounds!
@StarKIndMan Very doubtful you get any response. I’ve never seen a dev directly reply to a suggestion all the time I’ve been on F1 boards. They do however read them.
