Re: Crash to Desktop During Practice Programme

@ldwater2 it seems 1 of 3 practice programmes will cause the crash to desktop, i thought i was the only one experiencing this. im using MOZA + Pit House if we have a common denominator, it would narrow down the issue.

    Hey @SturmGraz and @ldwater2

Thank you for your reports. Could you run a DxDiag and attach it here? It will help a lot to the team to have those files to investigate this crashing issue.

Can confirm it happens on ANY remaining practice programs.

If I go out without a practice program it runs fine (no crash).

So to be clear, normally I split the 3 programs across the 3 sessions.

Practice 1 seems to be fine.  I can run a practice program without crash.

Practice 2 + 3 is when the crash occurs.

Regardless of which program I select, practice 2 + 3 I get a CTD on the 2nd lap, about 3/4s of the way through the lap.

    Hi,

I don't get any report code to give you since its a crash to desktop with no log or error message shown.

Do you have any logging options I could run to help diagnose this issue?

Can confirm this now happens in Practice 1 session as well.

I suspect that the issue is related to the new 'specialists' and that the crash is caused by when a 'goal' progress is being updated.

Again I don't have any sort of error code and a video wouldn't show you much other than a CTD during gameplay.

If there is anyway to enable a log that can help I'd be happy to try that.

I have an similar issue which may be correlated with the other one, and I have a way to recreate it.

    1. Start a Driver career mode and go into a practice session.

    2. Start a Practice Program.

    3. Mid session save and exit.

    4. Launch up the same Driver career mode save.

    I hope this helps

  • @EA_GroguetI just replicated it 3x in a row in VR and it crashed all 3 times. Broken report code: JEJS-RRME-GVBS-HSCD I then loaded it up in flat screen and it worked multiple times in a row in the same career in the same spot. Seems to happen repeatedly with "Fuel Management" and "Qualifying Pace" Working report code: VHJD-RCXX-VJDJ-VPPD

dxdiag attached again in case you missed my earlier post.

  • Confirmed, Practice 1 I did a mid-session save, came back today and every time I start the next practice program it crashes.

FYI, I tried retiring, fast forwarding to the end of the practice session and just driving out to do a regular lap and every time it crashed. Thanks for escalating I didn't want to go through F2 again

Same issue for me, but during race.

I saved at the middle of the race because i've seen some framerate issue, so i closed the game and restart.....but...when I try to load the career, the game crashes and i return to desktop

I had a little better luck when playing last night. I connect my quest 3 via virtual desktop wirelessly. Instead of letting it pick the runtime automatically I chose VDXR. I was able to complete most of the practices. The only game crash I had was on the second lap of Tire Management(I think) when the overlay appeared on the track. Previously I could not even complete "Qualifying Pace" or "Fuel Management" but those worked with this method. Might also try to force it to use the Oculus runtime as well to see if that works as VDXR did not have the best performance.

  • Me and my friend started Online Career Mode, but we have had technical difficulties. His game crashes when we do practice sessions. I don’t know if this issue will carry over to the qualifying and race, but a notable thing is we got through the first practice session without issues. When he is on Single player he is fine and the game doesn’t crash. He is using an HP Victus and no VR. And finally when he launches the game a graphics card issue come up like it is outdated or something. If more details are needed just let me know.
If anyone could help that would be awesome.
