Re: So why do people want low kill times

"""But back to the original point of lower kill times: BR games don't need to be like CSGO, people that are asking for lower kill times and faster player movement just want that ability for outplaying opponents to exist period. It's a lot harder to carry your teammates when the skill gap is small."""

Yes but then you get the old instagibbed no fun situation, this doesnt have to be like all the others, why even should it? Why not play the others?

Sigh*  I KNEW right away that the out cry would be " lower the ttk". It's not impossible to 1 vs 3 in this game, I've done it multiple times and got my whole team back. This is probably the only high ttk game on console that i know of, everything else is twitch based. For the love of god can we have just this one? there are already a load of these games with low ttks and br's at that. Why does everything have to be the same???? Why does every game have to be like some other game?? let this game be its own thing. If you want low ttk, you have options, go play that. I 100% disagree that low ttk is a higher skill ceiling.

Low ttk, *: whole team can get wiped very fast and very little chance of even regrouping or planning cause things go out of control to fast and easy. Also, skill wise, i find reaction time with less emphasis on aim, to not be MORE skill, in fact easier it is to die, the more likely a lucky shot can give someone a victory.  dont know about everyone else but more luck has an outcome the less skill as i see it, you see it all the time, watch people and most of the time they spray and pray all over and if one shot gets lucky placement out of the 30 rounds they plastered all over and 1-2 shots hit you die... yeah no. Pros: instant gratification, no need for great or even moderately good aim to achieve, can play only once  week and probably be able to kill people who have been playing for months well enough.

High ttk, more chances to turn things around, campers or ambushes can get out played by better skill and aim. more muscle memory and consistent aim with quality shots being best, one or two lucky shots isn't gonna give someone the win, meaning luck has even smaller odds of effecting the outcome. If you can survive more damage you wont get absolutely obliterated because of team fire taking your low ttk death time of .2 or .3 seconds to .1 or less if you get team fired.

I've been playing shooters since the very early 2000's, i gotta say im tired of the newer twitch shooters, if i wanted my gameplay to be 95% about reaction times, i'd just play some QTE game where i just react to button prompt. I want to actually aim, as i find in twitch shooters that the key is to NOT aim and just spazz out and fire at someone first, if you take even a fraction of a second to aim the guy who simply pulled the trigger with no aim at all, will win almost everytime. Unfortunately low TTK has been a fad for years now and probably wont be going away, as every game that comes out with high ttk has eventually got updated to be low ttk by people who cant be bothered to aim.  so the market is flooded with them, and its largely because its casual friendly, that's why people like cod, its easy to do well with little to no practice, drop in drop out, no dedication needed.

  • Yes, yes yes A HUNDRED TIMES YES. Surprise oneshots are not skill. People dont want to admit their followthrough is bad and dont want to work on it.

Correct, plus you can't simply drink a case of mountain dew and make your aim better, you can however make your reaction times faster off a caffeine high, while getting diabetes.

  • I don't think low TTK are the answer but the current TTK is too high to the point where is getting frustrateing

I don't know what games you have been playing, however, if you go from regularly playing high ttk games and go to a low, they tend to feel easy, although a little ADD, If you go from low to high, yes, you will feel frustrated because your use to having to only hit someone a little bit, such as having a high fire rate and unloading 30~ rounds in someones direction in .2 to get one knee shot for a DBNO. I found this out years ago when I went from playing Halo 1 on the pc way back when, and played CoD with a relative for a few months, CoD felt easy, but when i went back, I found my aim was awful and the kills felt like they took forever till I got my accuracy back. Personally, I much rather it where its at then lowering it at all, because ever game that lowers it always goes in the other extreme, and then you have another mind numbing Cod / r6 etc etc. If you like it, stick with it for about a month, i guarantee it wont still be frustrating because you will adapt, right now a lot of players just find it jarring compared to the usual and most players have let their aiming abilities atrophy much more than they realize.

  • I have never played COD but I have played RUST I have 1 k hours in rust so I can say I have a bit of experience there a skilled player can kill a better looted player again not saying that it is not possible but just because it is "possible" doesn't mean that it is consistent. Right now it is frustrating emptying a mag into somebody or dealing 280 dmg in one match where you only hit 1 person and still dieing. Again Cod TTK is too low but The current one is too high don't confuse my argument

I really don't see what your argument is here. From this post it looks like you're simply frustrated because you're used to just long peek and kill with a single spray. Whereas in this game you gotta do more than that, or be on point with your aim (any weapon except pistols can do over 200 damage with a single non-extended mag and without headshots). But so are your enemies. I can't see you providing any reason why current TTK is objectively bad except pointing out that winning 1v3 is hard which, as I previously described, is a flawed argument.

If all you're saying is that it simply feels off to you then well, it's only been out for days, may take a bit more for you to get used to.

Maybe you just had a patch of rough games, that happens. 280 damage into 1 person is fairly normal even in PUBG, you shouldn't get frustrated over that.

Most importantly, advocating to change the game because winning takes more effort than you'd like sounds very counterproductive and dangerous. Like, I could understand if you were arguing the opposite. How low TTK in a game like PUBG allows a bush camper to kill you with no fight whatsoever. That is cheesy. That leads to toxicity, that is inherently unhealthy. You died basically because his gamble paid off and there was no way for you to respond. That is frustrating. In this game you actually die because you got outplayed in a proper fight and we're complaining about that? All while being noobs playing their first few days? How does that make sense?
