Re: Game crashes when returning to mid session save

I mid raced saved my game and now when I try and load it, it always crashes on Xbox

Saved a career few hours ago mid race, now loading back up, kicks me off the game, on Xbox series X, any suggestions? 

Since the last update i have the same problem on PC (EA App)

Im on Xbox Series X and playing a Driver Carrier with Yuki. I was racing on Silverstone (12/24) and had saved mid race. After the Patch 1.4 i wanted to load my save, but my game crashes on loading screen....

This is sooooo frustrating...

I've moved and merged some more posts into this thread that all describe the same issue. I've also passed it along to the team to investigate.

It would be helpful if you could all provide some additional information. Check out our How to report a bug guide.

Please post your Report Code, DxDiag (if you are playing on PC), and if possible a save game file with the mid session save.


Some instructions for your save games:

If you are playing on Steam, you can find the save game location here:
<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\1692250\remote\

Alternatively, you could also right-click on F1 24 in your Steam library and click on Browse Local Files. This will take you to the game's install folder.

If you are playing on the EA app, you can find the save game location in your Documents folder --> MyGames --> F1 24 --> savegame --> ea --> profile.

If any of you experience the problem on PlayStation, we could also still use your save game. You can find that in your console storage and can then transfer it with a USB drive.

Most users found it best to upload their file to Google Drive and then share the link with us. If you don't like to share your save game publicly, feel free to DM it to me instead as well.

Do you remember what Career Specialist goals you had selected before doing the mid session save?

Any news on solving this problem? I play on PC (Steam) and I already have so many hours of progress, I don't want to lose it all....

Okay, so here is my save data. I think that the only not finished specialist gole was to do 6 laps with 3 different engine components. I have done that in FP but it did not count it in.

Like the title says the game crashes when i try to continue my career mode. I saved the game yesterday before the start of Spain GP and now i when i was going to continue the game crashes at loading screen before the race.

This has never happened before but now the game has crashed about 5 times (don't want to spend rest of today trying to get in the race) so it seems like no more career mode today for me. Haven't tried any other game mode and will not because career mode is the thing for me.

And another week has passed and still no update on the current status, let alone a patch that fixes this problem. So now 5 weeks in this state, I still find it an imposition. There are always new entries here that have this problem. I can only repeat it and I will do it again, this is not a good picture that is given here.

Get over it. We have a solution. The bug fix can wait.

Sorry guys, but if you had read properly, you should realise that there is no solution for me and the majority of gamers, because this is not possible on Playstation and Xbox and most of them still play on the console like I do. I'm upset about this because I once had an almost identical bug in another game and it was fixed within a week.

I'm having the same issue.

First season in Driver Career, Silverstone. The game keeps crashing after a Mid-Session-Save during the race after couple of seconds of loading screen.

I've moved some more posts into this thread.

It seems like the team has found a fix for this issue and should be deployed in an upcoming patch. I will keep you updated, once we know more or got patch notes ready.

In the meanwhile, you might try the workarounds shared in this thread that if you are on PC, you can delete the mid session save file, which will let you lose some race time but should then let you continue with your career!

@EA_Vendcera  Thanks for the update, any idea on when the patch is expected ? I only play career mode and now can't really play the game at all.

I noticed the issue appeared after I completed the 'Open DRS for more than 55s in a race', I dont know what specialist it was from...

Any temporary fix for Playstation in the meantime ?

I'm using the PS5 and my hands had crashed on mid game save. I've lost all my season that I've played. 

On starting a new season the car is now gone from handling great to all over the place. Using my previous set up. And I can't manually use DRS, even with selection another button on my wheel.
