Re: Nintendo lobbies and crossplay
@cheezedrop
1) When crossplay is off, it should only keep PC players out of your lobbies. Switch, Playstaion, and Xbox players are all classified as console players. There's no lobby per console system, they're all mixed. Keep in mind for those on PC, a lot of us don't like console players. This is mainly because of things like strikepacks. We already have a lot of people using cheats on PC, we don't need their console friends in the lobbies, but we're forced to play with them anyways.
2) Even as a PC player, my unranked and ranked matches are the same as you. A lot of preds in unranked, and then I get new players more often as teammates, or ones with zero game awareness. Apex doesn't have skill base matchmaking (despite claiming as such), it has engagement optimized matchmaking. If it had skill base matchmaking, then those people who create new accounts to level up and get to pred, would be paired with each other and end up in lobbies with preds who are on their main accounts, and also end up in lobbies with cheaters that have yet to get banned. However, since there's no skill based matchmaking, you would see low levels in just about any match. That's engagement optimized matchmaking for you.
3) The game isn't really optimized for the Switch, and while I'm not completely sure, it requires a better equipment than what the Switch has built-in. Other Switch ports, like Fortnite I believe had gotten a lot of its game elements tone down for Switch players. There's less particles, shadowing, and other game elements that typically requires decent equipment to run. You might have better luck playing the game on a TV, where the HUD and such are easier to see anyways.
