Sims 4 Sims won't move can't do actions

When I open the game, I can't get the sims to do anything. They just all stand outside the house. Time keeps moving and random sims continue to walk by. Every now and then I can get them to walk, but they can't do any other actions like taking a shower, talking to sims, eating, using the toilet, etc. They stand still and a green bar appears over their head as if they are doing something, but their stats do not change and there's nothing in the queue bar. Also, the queue bar continues to make the noise like something is being added, but no icon appears. And the white bar gets longer.

I have always wanted to play the sims again and I was finally able to buy it, but I can't even play it. I just bought it yesterday and I haven't played at all since I'm unable to. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled it, and that did nothing.

  • Hi @XiaoLianZheng

I know you mention you just installed the game but... have you installed any mods? If so, try the game without them.

If you haven't installed mods, then move the "The Sims 4" folder you can find in Documents/Electronic Arts to your Desktop. Open the game again. You won't find your savegames nor your sims in there, just create a new family and try the game with the new sims. Does it work fine?

@XiaoLianZheng You can use mods, you just need to make sure the mods you are using are compatible with the version of the game you are playing in. Also, you need to be careful not to install two mods that are incompatible.

So check if the mods you are downloading are compatible with the latest version of the game and install the mods in small groups so if you find any problem in game, you will easily find which mod caused the issue.

More info about mods here. Good luck!
